Sweet. I hope they start running internet servers for Quake through Steam like GameSpy does. Hopefully I can hit up some Team Fortress in the original 2Fort.

I don't really know a lot about Steam. I have the original Quake buried somewhere in my room, would I be able to install that and play that online on Steam or would I have to buy their game through direct download?

Thats a good deal for all of those games. I always wanted to play Hexen II. I remember the demo awhile back but I never did get the game.

They may have some sort of CD/CD key activation like they do with HL2, but I doubt it.Luriden wrote:I don't really know a lot about Steam. They won't allow people who already have Q3 to play on Steam servers? I'm really tempted to get the Super pack. I already own most of the games, but a lot of them are on 3.5 floppies.

Re: iD partners with steam
They probably didn't add it because it's too recent and the boxed game still sells well at stores.|darc| wrote:(edit: errr... where's quake 4?)
The only game that's really missing from that collection is the Hexen II mission pack, and maybe Heretic II.
[edit]Also, an official PC port of Doom 64 would be awesome.

Wow, I really want to get that pack of games. A lot of neat things I want to play again, especially Quake 3 team arena.

Re: iD partners with steam
Now, is Steam actually going to host any servers for these games? I'd really like to get back into some TeamFortress for Quake, but not if I have to deal with GameSpy or anything of that nature.

I realized that I'd save myself money by just getting the Quake 3 Arena pack and Commander Keen. Anyone else interested in Q3A?MulletMan13 wrote:Wow, I really want to get that pack of games. A lot of neat things I want to play again, especially Quake 3 team arena.

I ended up getting the id games pack. If anyone wants to play something I'm up for a game.
