Dreamcast not playing games
hey guys and gals
just yesterday my dreamcast stopped loading games
i put in my import booter and it would show the screen
it would just show the Dreamcast start up screen and i could hear the laser and disk moving
and it would just go to the "play, file etc.." menu
so i would pop the lid and close it and it would say "checking disk" and then i would go to "play" and it would say "please insery game disk" and this happens with regular US game disks as well
any ideas as to what the problem could be??? i'm soooo disheartened my sega saturn has been lasting and playing just as well as it did 13 years ago :^(
thanks guys

The fact that discs fail to boot suggests a hardware problem that might be repairable.centralsnare06 wrote:you might want to put this in a different forum, seeing as this one is more for hardware and modifications, not bootdisks.

Re: Dreamcast not playing games
Mine works fine, except when you play Wacky Races you can hear the laser just *grinding away and the speech skips.
Re: Dreamcast not playing games
One thing I do when my dreamcast resets and stops working. I put it in my freezer for a little while. After it is child not super cold. Just cooled. I then restart the game it crashed on and everything works. I do not know the scientifics with this, but I do know this works very well. Maybe it cools down the capacitor long enough. I don't know, but it's my fix.
