I had an issue with that awhile ago. It just turned out that I couldn't do it while I was using DCHP. I gave my computer a static IP while everybody else still used DCHP on the network.Calavera wrote:I used my brothers linksys router. Forwarded the ports exactly how the guide said and still nothing. ^--Do that dammit! Bypass the router to see if it's your ISP.butters wrote:Try plugging in directly to whatever connects you to the internet and see if you get a green light. If you don't, try changing the port number the program tries to connect on. When you find a working port, connect to your router and forward that port to your ip address. You can find out your ip address by typing ipconfig at a cmd prompt.

Just because your internet downloads are 200KB/s doesn't mean bittorrent downloads will go the same speed....Calavera wrote:I get 200KB/s on internet downloads. But bittorent or ares is lucky to get 10KB/s.
The azureus faq does a decent explanation of why your downloads could be slow -> http://azureus.sourceforge.net/faq.php#10

This is my isp http://www.oincwireless.com/. The guy makes the antennas in his garage. I guess it couldn't hurt to ask though.
