Hey, I need some help.

Anything DreamSNES-related can be asked in this forum, such as general questions about the emulator, how to burn it, etc.

You add your ROMs either to /SNES/ or /ROMS/ and then create a ROMS.LST with The Krypt's ROM List Creater v1.2.

Burn it with Nero as your usual CDROM data disc.

Ok, I did exactly as the totorial stickied in teh main forums said.

Made the boot disk, the ROM.LST and put NO_ROMS.HERE in the directorys I don't want checked for ROMS.

Everything is booting and running fine... However; the ROMS run HORRRIBLY slow not even barably playable.. I have tweaked settings various ways...

Is this just because it's still in the Alpha Stage? if so, is this an active project, does it still get updated?

HERE IS A SCREEN ON MY CURRENT CONFIGURATION!

Overall I think ZSNES for PC is better but I would like to set this up for my girlfriend.

Yeah, it is slow, so it's not a problem with your config. You could turn off sound for a little speed boost...

And the DSNES project hasn't been active for years.

Is there any other emulators for DC other than these?

http://www.consolevision.com/?Dreamcast ... r_Nintendo

Those are all I can find, I tried DreamSNES and Super Famicast, however I was skeptic to use SNES4ALL but I saw that, that was in the alpha stage as well..

I just want some Mario Games to work along with Zelda a link to the past.

Do you know anywere to got ERUO Specific ROMS? I heard running those at 50Hz makes a lot of games run better.

Don't get your hopes up, as the difference is barely noticeable IMO and PAL games tend to run slower than their NTSC counterparts.

As to where to get ROMs, I can't tell you because it's against the forum rules, but just so you know they're marked as (E) in GoodSNES and (Europe) in NSRT (both are ROM auditing tools).

Superfamicast v1 is the fastest there is if you have sound off. v2 is faster overall but the difference with sound off isn't as great. v2 should be faster than DSNES afaik though.

My config:

TV-Mode: No
Fullscreen: No
Refresh: 50Hz
Sound: Mute (or Mono at max)
Transparency: No
CPU Optimizations: Yes
Mode 7 Interpolation: No

...and I'm somewhat pleased with the result on my games. (Okay, some games need transparency to be enabled cause otherwise you can't see a thing.)

Still, there are games like Yoshi's Island or the Kirby games that aren't playable (as they use some enhanced chip-sets on their original cartridges that need to be emulated on top of the original SNES), but most 'normal' games run from 90% - 100%, especially in case of RPGs :)

Some other games that I can higly recommend are:
- Super Mario World
- Super Mario Allstars
- Zelda
- Donkey Kong Country 1/2/3

ZSNES is better. No doubt about that.

Anyway, if you want to play SNES on your Dreamcast with (mono) sound, DreamSNES is by far the best choice.

I recommend EU PAL versions of your favorite games as these will run slightly better than their US/JP versions.
