Speed increase is significant, that's for sure
Just tested Gooftroop and Killer Instinct.
KI runs almost as fast as it did on Dreamsnes, if not as fast (judging from my memory here)
Gooftroop is now playable, with version Alpha 2 it was unbearably slow.

No, DSNES has better video modes (TV mode - low res) brilliant! Plays better too with sound and transparencies.
But as soon as the screen is fixed and speed improved it sure will, the alpha 3 with auto-frameskipping plays very good. So it's worth a try.
Super Mario World plays very good, recommended!

I dunno, I'd say that DSNES is about as good as SNES could possibly get on Dreamcast (though I'd love to be proven wrong). For chui to get his emu running faster than DSNES would require a lot of time and coding skills. I'm not sure it's possible.Dreamcast4life wrote:it'll surpass Dsnes though, so I am not worried. Chui is not the type of guy who leaves people hanging without saying so.

I'm pretty sure it would be possible, it just needs a lot of time and work, and maybe certain games will never reach fullspeed, games like Mario RPG, Starfox and other of those 'special games'.

Careful, that's a loaded question around these parts.evanft wrote:So...has it surpassed DSNES yet?
In all seriousness though SFC v2 can be realtively easily modified so that with sound it will be as fast as it is without sound, but it just takes doing which hasn't been done. If a new version of SFC ever pops up it will easily surpass both.

If Scherzo and you could help I'm sure Chui will be happy.Quzar wrote:Careful, that's a loaded question around these parts.evanft wrote:So...has it surpassed DSNES yet?

Remember how much Genplus improved when BlackAura and Fox work together
This is the way right now.

I need sound in my games, when you play games (especially SNES) sound is very much need to enjoy the game. Can't stand a game like FF II\IV or brain lord with no music.
Have you played dreamcast today?

I agree with you DC4L, sound brings the games alive, especially RPG's.

After reading this, I had to try SFC v2 with no sound to see what it would be like, and I was very impressed. A lot of games ran at very close to full speed... I would love to be able to play SNES games like that with sound on.Quzar wrote:Careful, that's a loaded question around these parts.evanft wrote:So...has it surpassed DSNES yet?
