There's Evil at DC Evolution!

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

There's Evil at DC Evolution!

Post by DCDayDreamer »

Not the people!, the games:

Here's another 'ready to burn and play' release from us: the CD image contains the Beats of Rage game mods Crisis Evil and Crisis Evil 2 made by HarlemHero, each game on the CD can be played on your Dreamcast in NTSC or PAL format with rumble support (thanks to L@cible). The game mods feature the characters from the Resident Evil game series, not only are the good guys here... the Zombies, Dogs, Plants, Spiders, and even the Nemesis is here!.

Someone should direct Capcom to this mod so that they get a clue on how to make a decent minigame for Resident Evil 5. The minigames in RE4 were ok, but not worth playing just for their own quality IMO.

Probably not a great idea, considering no one's ever really figured out just how legal the BOR mods are. We may all end up getting sued by Capcom.

But why ? Those are not commercially sold projects nor are they 1:1 remakes of the originals. These are fan projects.

But they use copyrighted material. It actually would be a good idea to contact companies and get their opinion on these, as I really don't like the fact that they're borderline illegal.

It would be cool if Capcom gave the modders a fan license like Vivendi did for The Silver Lining.

Not only that, but from the screenshots it seems a lot of the sprites were ripped from games like Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Capcom vs SNK.
