Do Americans have to pay the tv tax in the UK?

Post by SuperMegatron »

I am thinking of going to london for spring break with some friends and I have a little handheld 2 inch tv that I want to bring with me. Do I have to pay the tv tax to use it there?

Is it even compatible with a UK broadcast?

I wish the various companies would just have an international meeting of some sort, and decide on either a unified NTSC or PAL format. Competing standards irk me

You have to steal Big Screen Tv's and 2000 dollar apple computers from the government but you can afford a trip to London. No wait I don't even want to know where you scammed that money from you loser.

Flame away but " private" student loans can cover anything from tv's to trips to europe. I am sorry that upsets you but if you think I am the only one who does this your mistaken. Do you think everyone who goes to school can afford a laptop? Nope, so they use a student loan for it. Hell a single mother in my class borrows 20k a year to pay her house payment and to cover day care. As for scamming the government I get a pell grant(goes 100% to class cost) Subsidized government student loan(goes to class expenses again) and a private student loan from a outside bank that goes to what ever I want it to. Since its a private loan I get it based on my credit or with a cosigner and it still has to be approved by my school. So wheres the issue here.

You don't have to pay a TV license if your TV is fully powered from batteries.

Of course, as mentioned, it probably isn't compatable with our broadcasts.

and while they're at it, do the same for game systems so we only have one all-playing console! :?
