I know weed and porn are not huge deals, it's just such a surprise to find out that my dad does it. Put it this way, would you be surprised if you found out your grandmother was a stoner? Like you all say, it's not bad--it's just a big surprise.
And of course I won't be telling my mom. I could use it as a threat though My dad and I have been fighting a lot lately. About 3 days ago I was literally holding him down because we were physically fighting. We've never fought like this before; it's just that he begins to get on my nerves because I consider both of my parents very rude (my dad will come home from work with mud all over his clothes and lay on my bed; they'll come in and talk back and forth from opposite sides of the room while I've been watching a movie for a while, and they have no reason to be in here; etc.)
I can see where Darc is coming from. When we are little, we see our parents as kind of superheros, that can do anything. So when we grow up, and we learn that this is not the case, it surprises us. So for Darc to grow up with a father that looks down on such things as porn and weed, and then see him doing it himself, it comes at a great shock because Darc was instilled with morals from his father when he was young telling him that this stuff is bad, and now he is caught doing something that he taught to be wrong.
Now, some of you probably do not understand Darc situation because when you were young, you found out about your parent's habits for such things. When you find them out early in life, it becomes acceptable because you are not taught differently and do not understand exactly what is wrong with it. Your parents are doing it, so that makes it okay. But Darc is much older and beyond that point of influence. He grew up with a father that was against it, and now he finds out after that influence that has set in that his dad was hiding the truth.
Does that make sense? It made sense as I was typing it.
Earlier this year a good friend of mine died, at the funeral his son wrote a speach that the chruch minister read out, it went "You think your parents are superheors, you think they are invinciple. This experience has really made me think."
Its suck in my mind ever since, and made me think aswell.

Wow darc, that's the total opposite of my childhood. My mom always told me stories of her days partying her ass off back in the Army, taking uppers and downers to stay sane while working as a nurse in 'Nam hospitals, etc. My old man had plenty of stories about smoking hash with warrant officers before going on search and rescue missions or trying peyote in the desert.
Kind of funny, cus now they both work with the mentally ill and in drug rehab centers.
Oddly enough, all their bad decisions and current unhappiness with their lives drives my decisions far more than "just say no" or the DARE program ever could. It's one thing to hear from some local pig that smoking weed will send you straight to hell and kill your parents. It's another thing to listen to your parents tell you what drugs will actually do.
Need a Treamcast, Dreamcast modchip, HUGE DC memory card, ASCII-like DC fighter pad, or Saturn Gameshark with tons of backup memory? PM me.
Hmm... does sound pretty kosher, but I understand what you mean. I'd be pretty freaked out to find that my mom smokes pot. I was scared that you were going to say something extremely vulgar about the porn like it was "snuff"? Really violent porn, if that was the term. Or some child porn or something...

Was he 8 years old?
no, he was 16. This friend was about 40, I had played cricket with him many years though.
I talked to one of my coworkers (I work for my dad) and he told me he gave it to my dad. It wasn't good stuff. He and my dad smoke sometimes. Then he gave me free tickets to go to New Orleans's Voodoo Fest (which is non-public... )
