May be mistaken but I believe that a regular sega genesis a/c will also work with the cd console....

The genesis doesn't power on with both, but you do need both ps to run oth the genesis and the sega cd.

Sounds like either a dead sega cd a/c or another internal problem.

I have a couple sega cd a/c if interested that I could sell cheaply....

Worth a shot....I think http://www.sega-parts.com repairs sega cd consoles if more attention is needed. They might gouge you with shipping, so I would see if there is a little import video game shop or something in your hometown that repairs consoles...

Update us, mmm'kkkkay?
I'd be interested in knowing what was wrong for future preference, cause I have a sega cd as well....

It would probably be cheaper to just buy another Sega CD then to have Sega repair it. Seems like they are fairly cheap on E-bay.

I have a boxed sega cd model 2 that I had up for sale here in off-topic; I could sell you it cheaply, if interested. Otherwise, I'm going to sell on ebay.

Sounds like an internal problem, so veggita may be right. I thought you said the genesis worked it was just the sega cd. Try a universal or genesis a/c with the sega cd......

Yes, that definetly sounds like your problem. I have a couple sega cds lying around that are doing the same thing; gonna have to try.

Thanks for the link, metafox :D

In this case, yes. It's just two points on the board, and the points that need soldering are a decent size, so you don't have to be worried about soldering something that shouldn't be soldered.

try a universal adapter. My genesis power plug doesnt work with my sega cd either. I had to buy a radio shack one that has changable ends. The weird crap is I have to put the end on wrong to get it to work. Ill try to explain better: The end of the adapter says positive/negative, and so do the changable tips. But in order to get my sega CD to work I have to put the tip on with positive and negative connected. I dont know why, and I dont recommend you do that but it worked on mine.
