Nintendo has expressed that they were going to keep up with both a Game Boy and DS line of hardware. Sounds silly, but thats what was said.BlackGuyFromReadinRainbow wrote:DrFreeze wrote:

thats just 2 systems really the rest are revisons. the ds is totally differentEvilN wrote:...maybe because nintendo's released 6 or so different gameboy advances?
GBA
GBASP
GBASP NES Edition (marketed if you already had a GBASP)
Gameboy Player
DS(plays gba games)
and now Gameboy Micro
1 its not a game boy
2 it can play gba games but single player only
3. it plays ds games also
4. does not play original game boy or game boy color but the gba can
nintendo probbaly will show off the new gameboy at next e3
the specifically said this is not the next game boy
so next year probbaly. plus its rumored to be backwards compatible with game cube discs as well as gb/gbc/gba games, that alone is awesome.
really nintendo has only had 3 gameboys
the original
gbc
gba
but has a few revisions of those consoles.
i think its a smart move by nintendo to make revisions.
look at it this way, it expands the market for the gba
they still sell the original model its much cheaper. they have the sp its more expensive now they have this new model so i gess the sp will drop in price or this one will be cheaper or the same dunno. but they cater to diffrent types of people and different budgets yet play the same games.

i am sort of thinking of getting a DS, but i was wondering if a new GB is only a bit away, it would be stupid to get a DS now, thats why i wanted to know

I don't think I'll be able to resist when it comes out. There is a convenience factor in it being so small. As small as my SP already is, there have been times where I decided not to take it with me because I didn't feel like being weighed down by it. I can totally picture playing PocketNES on the GBA Micro.
I wonder if the battery life will be the same.

yeah, i kind of like to know how long this thing runs on a single charge
as for pocketsnes, wouldnt the added bulge of a movie player totally ruin the compactness of the micro? even with classic gba's and the SP i think the movie player is a stupid looking extension

I'll probably get it just because the SP is really too big for me. When I leave the house every day, I've already got quite a few things in my pockets (PDA, cell phone, work keys, car keys, etc...) so this would be a near perfect portable solution for me...even if the screen is significantly smaller than the SP.

It looks cool, but I found one thing odd. One of the main selling points of the GBASP and the DS has been the folding of the unit to protect the screen. I imagine that third party companies will make small clip-on screen protection devices (like they did with the original GBA), but those aren't always convenient. I'll stick with my SP.
Why couldn't they have included it on the SP?
I did not expect that. I thought it was odd that Wal-mart was clearancing out the GBASP specific headphones, but I guess they won't need them after every kid gets his mommy to buy a Micro for him.The system comes with a built-in, rechargeable lithium-ion battery and supports standard headphones.
Why couldn't they have included it on the SP?

Why? The gb to gba screens are indestructable.OldSkoolGamer wrote:It looks cool, but I found one thing odd. When people start moaning about things like this, why don't they just ignore it? I know that tons of people will buy this, nintendo does too, it's not a secret. If you don't like it, there's nothing forcing you to purchase one.
I for one think that it's pretty snazzy, and if the price is right then I'm probably going to end up buying one.
