The Beats of Rage 2

Post by Salamander2 »

we know that Senile team use the maximum of their efforts creating the awesome Beats of Rage. we could make our own brawler game too.
but i think it?s time for an enhancement of the game engine.
what do you think about?
i think that senile team need to upgrade this fantastic system.
(and stay compatible with pc, ps2 and obviouslly the dreamcast).
8-)

i have imagined a brawler engine that aproach to something like
Rushin Beat RUN(brawl brothers), Crime Fighters 2(vendetta) and Bare Knuckle 3(Streets of Rage 3).

Thing like running, use different attacks with weapon, ride a bike(skate, etc) co-operative attack(streets of rage 1,3, the simpsons, and the most fun, M.D.
Golden Axe 3), secret moves, rushing combos, mid-air attacks, etc. the there are no limits for creativity.

This belongs in the BOR forums anyways.

The question is, will it have an editor?

Do you mean "will Age of the Beast be moddable"? Yes, it definitely will.

Where did you see that, the last time I checked, I didn't see a thing about it, unless they updated the site since then.

In This Topic, that question was answered.

Here is the response that was given when someone asked if AotB would be moddable:
LyonHrt wrote:As to quote Leila.
If everything works out, the next project should be even more customisable/modable than BOR.
Don't know if anything else has been said since then though :)

It's not backwards compatible with BoR but AofB will definitely be moddable like BoR and have a much better palette for everyone out there beating their heads about the palette! We're talking 1024 colors now! Also, there will be 4 player support and the ability to cast spells like that of Golden Axe! It won't be out for a while but once it does, once again Senile Team will once again have a great engine that everyone can mod great games out of!
If you've got an ass, I'll kick it!

Just saw this response in the AotB forum, from the Admin himself:
There are two types of mods that one can make for Age of the Beast.

1) Extensions
2) Full mods

As the name suggests, extension mods will make the original game bigger. All levels, players, enemies and other data will be combined to form one giant monster of a game. Additionally, a built-in menu will allow you to play the individual extensions as well.

Support for full mods is not yet implemented. It shouldn't be too hard to add a simple menu to the game's startup sequence, so the final version probably will have this feature. In any case it will still be possible, ofcourse, to make a full mod by simply replacing all data.
So, yes, the game will be moddable, and they will probably even add in a feature that will allow you to load multiple mods.
