Stepping up
Shipping won't kill me since I'm in Michigan so I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is and pick up 5 issues if you get it professionally done. I'd be able to pass out the other 4 to friends who have a passing interest in the DC and dig the homebrew stuff.
In the future if you can get this off the ground a mailing list would be nice to announce new issues. I assume that until you get enough people to start doing subscriptions the timing of new issues will vary some. I for one would like to know a few weeks ahead of time so I can be sure to have money set aside for this.
Best of luck getting issue 1 off the ground, and I can't wait to see it.

I would buy it immediately, even at a higher price.I am afraid the only way I can pay is through paypal tough.

so, metafox. is it more about the dc games and fluff(like a reg mag.) or it is about how far the homebrew scene has come and what they're working on?
oh and heres a stupid idea: send one to sega of america free of charge (would they try to shut you down?)

It's mostly about the homebrew scene, but it's got it's share of "fluff" as well.I.M. Weasel wrote:so, metafox. is it more about the dc games and fluff(like a reg mag.) or it is about how far the homebrew scene has come and what they're working on?
Not a stupid idea at all, I actually like it. I couldn't see them trying to shut me down (they may want me to change the magazine's name because as stated before Dream On was used with the ODCM UK demo discs, but I'd have no problem with that).I.M. It'd be interesting to see what response (if any) I get from them.
The first issue is being sold seperately to gauge interest. If enough interest is available in the magazine, then a subscription plan will definately be laid out. You can't pay for the single issue now either, as I'm just gauging interest - I'm not taking preorders.sonicdreamX wrote:can i subscribe now?
For the first issue, Beneath a Steel Sky is going to be included. I am coding a menu system for the magazine, and it's not quite ready yet. Beneath a Steel Sky is a great game, plus Revolution are great folks who have released the sources to several of their games to ScummVM, so they deserve a disc all their own.sonicdreamX wrote:how many games are going to be on the disk?
The future issues will feature compilation CDs using the menuing system, this release is just for testing the waters, so to speak.

When you say that the Demo Disc will include 'Beneath a Steel Sky' - is that the full version of the game or a demo? And will it contain other demos??
But it all sounds fantastic at the moment! I hope you make it big!
- I would love to buy the magazine- but I live in the UK. So if you do start sending it worldwide- could you like post an announcement or something for all to hear?!
Good luck man
