The Dreamcast Atomiswave Petition

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

:o Cool stuff! Very nice that is!

Send them all to Max at Dreamcast-Scene.com together with a letter or little petition so he can send them with a Japanese mail in a huge package to SEGA-SAMMY!

Adress see on page one of this thread (or in the contact section of http://www.dreamcast-scene.com  )

Thank you all for your great support :D

:D Thank you! You too

...762 signatures to that online petition in four days :P

Again so much for the paper petition and SAMMY is almost forced to do some releases to DC...

:o 949 signatures in six days...

Let's hope we'll get a comparable number of contributions to the real paper petition as well

Just set up your own little petition, get some subscribers or just be creative and pass it all over to Max aka Freeze:
Post contact

Dreamcast-Scene
Zeilerbergstrasse 52

Germany / Europe
Dreamcast-Scene.com aka Dreamcast-Petition.com had already success with bringing Border Down to DC so give it a try

PS: Don't forget to drop SAMMY online a few lines with this contact form

Thank you for your support, Christluu!

To everyone: An online petition alone, such as the one started by Porto won't give us DC games, but you could write a letter, do your own paper petition and let it sign by your friends, be creative etc and send all this stuff to the above adress of Dreamcast-Scene.com

...but first read this:
Tec Toy will be producing DC till 2007 in Brazil!
http://asp.tectoy.com.br/videogame/dreamcast/index.asp

http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/phpbb/vi ... .php?t=410

Because I know that Tec Toy has done it before with the SEGA Master System and the SEGA Genesis/MegaDrive, I think that it's possible that they'll also start to produce some new games for it... On the other hand: Let's have a look back at the mail from Sammy that I've recieved:
Thank you for your inquiry about our product.

It is not scheduled to convert ATOMISWAVE titles into DREAMCAST at this moment. We will make good use of your idea in our future development.

Thank you.

Yeah, TecToy itself had ported DukeNukem 3D to the SEGA Genesis/MegaDrive and even released a 50 MiniGame collection for the SEGA MasterSystem in late 2003...

Have you ever played their Duke Nukem? They made their own levels, which were just mind-numbingly repetitive dungeons with the same grey walls. Everybody died with one shot, yourself included. All in all it was very generic. Nothing compared to the later GBA game, which was actually pretty decent.

Some info about the Atomiswave games by icepick (DCS):

---

Force Five
Screens

The Rumble Fish
Screens and Official Site

Dolphin Blue
Video on this page (check out their forums, also!) and Official Site

The King of Fighters NeoWave
Screens and Official Site
(this would likely not get ported to DC unless SNK Playmore got really drunk for a few weeks, or Sammy ordered them to do so... )

Demolish Fist
Screens and info
(3D graphics, 2D-style fighter, I think)

There are also a few titles not listed here displayed at System16's AW page:
http://www.system16.com/other/hrdw_atomiswave.html

Those are off the top of my head... hopefully they're of some help.

---

@az_bont: Yeah, the games TecToy made weren't that good :? but they were new :P

Because I know that Tec Toy has done it before with the SEGA Master System (released a 20 MiniGames collection in late 2003) and the SEGA Genesis/MegaDrive (released a port of DukeNukem3D in 1998), I think that it's even possible that they'll also start to produce their own new games for it...

Latest SMS game from TecToy (released 2003): 20-in-1 (not 50-in-1 as I've written above)
Image

Latest Genesis/MegaDrive game (released 1998 or maybe 1999): DukeNukem3D
Image

IMO both games are... er... not that good...

But they still sell & support older SEGA systems too, as they were very successful in Brazil:

@christus: are these officially licensed or some sort of weird pirate versions of the consoles?

Tectoy is the official Sega licensee for Brazil. All of tectoy's consoles, ports, etc. are officially endorsed by Sega.
