I remember them as very small, so I don't think that's what John had in mind. Actually, I found the chapter I was referring to - Rev 9. He calls them locusts, so I guess mega-locusts would be apt. ('cause locusts don't generally look like horses, with human faces, womanlike hair, crowns of gold, or scorpion tails.)impetus wrote:aka helicopters? perhaps...

Hrmm... you forgot one of the major National parks in the US is a giant volcano... I believe it's Yellowstone. When that explodes, it's going to make Pompeii/Krakatoa look like a roman candle ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
That will happen-- then nuclear winter for years, slowly killing everyone except the important residents in the US UK and France and Germany. No matter what happens a few will be able to survive in bunkers. Also, Yellowstone has had a major eruption every 60,000 years or so... and guess how long it's been, just over 60,000.
. Also, some island off of Africa is due to explode, cutting the island in half, causing a HUGE tsunami to crash into the American coast and causing nuclear winter. That shouldnt be too bad, but it would still knock off a fair amount. Hrmmm and asteroid hitting the globe would be devastating- depending on the size of it, it could kill billions, or just millions. *shrugs*
It will defintely be a natural disaster though. I assure you, we will be done on earth way before the sun burns out![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

Vanilla Ice will return and make a collabo album with 'Hassle The Hoff'. We will all die just from the albums existance nevermind the teenage girls that will probably love it and make it played on every music channel, every other song
Scary thing is that could actually happen.

It's not yellowstone. And there are no recorded volcanoes large enough to cause the equivalent of nuclear winter, not on Earth anyway.you forgot one of the major National parks in the US is a giant volcano... I believe it's Yellowstone.

" The eruption also shot a column of volcanic ash and gases high into Earth's stratosphere. This volcanic cloud circled the globe many times and affected Earth's climate by reducing the intensity of solar radiation reaching the lower atmosphere and surface. Fine volcanic ash that fell downwind from the eruption site blanketed much of North America. This ash layer is still preserved in deposits as far away as Iowa, where it is a few inches thick, and the Gulf of Mexico, where it is recognizable in drill cores from the sea floor. Lava flows have since buried and obscured most of the caldera, but the underlying processes responsible for Yellowstone's tremendous volcanic eruptions are still at work. "
... it is Yellowstone.

Indeed, saw a documentry about it the other year interesting stuff & not the way most people expect the end may happen so while an eruptions expected from this caldera it would be an unusual way to go
