My Buys today

Post by JDUK »

Well went into town today and couldnt help but pick up some of the sub ?5 DC games still sitting on the shelves.

?3 Quake 3. I was supprised at how good the DC version looks. its lower res than PC res but the frame rate is solid as a rock. Good for ?3
?4 Record Of Lodos War: Only had a quick bash as i had to go to work.... looks a lot like Balders Gate: Dark Alliance (or whatever its called) could be fun :?:
?4 Slave Zero: Runs like a heap of shit, but the all the big robot stomping round a city noises sound great on my speakers.. could be good if it didnt slow down as much.

And my prize buy today (not a great deal but a fun game) Sega Bass Fishing + Rod for ?16. I brought it for some quick fun but its so adictive.
Its a horrid, terrible, shameful thing to say but in a tiny-weeny, incy-wincy way all these cheap games kind of makes me a little glad DC died..... .....oh the shame

This week for the price of a ~3 Xbox games ive picked up 8 games (slave 0 is the only one im disapointed with) an arcade stick a VMU & a fishing rod. A total bargain.

Yeah, Slave Zero is well... a bit pants, really.
The PC version was alright, and not quite as bugged as the DC version, which seems to have texturing and shadowing errors

I got Slave Zero for free once when I joined Special Reserve. I (quite literally) used the disc as a coaster. I wouldn't even have it if they were giving it away.

Nice buys with the other ones though. :D

If it's so rare I doubt he could pick it up for 4 pounds. Apart from the fact that he said in the same post that he's PLAYED it, meaning it's already open.

EDIT: Damn, beaten to the punch.

Trust me, it's really rare, at least in the USA. I don't know about England. Still, it's rare and collectable.

Heh, almost all of the DC games are rare in Australia, seeing as OziSoft (which later became Infogrames Australia, which then became Atari... :o) decided to stop producing/importing titles before Shenmue II was released.

I'm saying, we missed out on Shenmue II and all other games that came out around that time and later.
- Interesting.

Booooooo [shakes fist] , They could never be awful there is so much care and attention to detail in them.

So? Hitler took care and attention, is he a great guy? Those games had weak stories, boring gameplay. And with the exception of Space Harrier, offered no enjoyment whatsoever.

So whats your idea of some "games that don't suck then" ?

Your comparison of Adolf Hitler and Yu Suzuki have been noted, But im not sure you've grasped the idea that comparing videogame software to the third reich is fair means for attempting to prove a point.

Kron shaves his head then goes to look for some sailors.

Okay. Well, looking at the Role Playing genre, I'd say Skies of Arcadia doesn't suck, it's a classic. That's just Dreamcast, let's not even get into Final Fantasy.
