Some great usefull reactions finally! The image I created selfboots and you can burn it easily with Disc Juggler, download it at http://www.padus.com .
Ok, I'm getting a little confused right now. Can somebody tell me what versions (or codecs) exist of Divx and wich one does this one support? If i'm right it doesn't support Divx 3.11?

Alright guys, Alpha 2 is now out, check out the main page for more info.
"Sounds like you guys are trying to use Divx;-) 3.x, this is a Divx 4.x player. I may add Divx;-) 3.x support shortly depending on performance. It will not however perform as well as Divx 4.x video nor will it have the same quality at these bitrates.
Hope this helps. "
In the comments section of the first release news post gottahavit posted this info after a few people had said that they had some trouble getting some files playing:Captain Skyhawk wrote: Ok, I'm getting a little confused right now. Um, thats your mistake; just burn it and use it in the DC without using a boot disk; it *is* self - boot, I burned it successfully myself, but I take no credit for making it, I believe its the same file that http://www.consolevision.com are hosting as well made by Sparkiller. It will load up a screen with a 3Dish floor, saying DCDivX "scanning directories" or something; then you just swap in a CD containing DiVX movies.NoKY wrote: Nyarlathotep I tried your IMAGE file for NERO and its not SELF boot, what I did is use the boot disk to try it out, and then Nyarlathotep's file
I don't think the mode settings matter; you *must* make sure that the filenames of the movies you want to watch are a total of no more than 11 characters (ie Fight_Club_DivX.avi will reset your DC, fclub.avi will play). I havent found any problems with any CDs I have tried so far, so I dont think the CD Mode is all that important - obviously make sure your burning prog writes your CDs as 'data' rather than 'audio'ultradude wrote: Nyarlathotep OK....what u said about the MODE ..useing NERO or EASY CD ..how can i burn a CD Compatible with DC DivX?
DivX 4.12 encoded stuff at the right res / bitrate plays ok, and I have had partial success with old 3.11 stuff (audio only though which is probably due to the limited support for 3.11 which is included in Open DivX) and am going to have an experiment to see if any other formats like MPEG4 have any kind of support as well

I did as you say, but still nothing, what I did is, BURN the CD image that you gave to us, then I put it in because, as you said, its "self boot" after thisthe screen for the CD played appeared... And I don't think that is what so suppose to do... right?Nyarlathotep wrote:Um, thats your mistake; just burn it and use it in the DC without using a boot disk; it *is* self - boot, I burned it successfully myself, but I take no credit for making it, I believe its the same file that http://www.consolevision.com are hosting as well made by Sparkiller. Where can I get simpsons/star trek/other?
Could anyone direct me to a decent site with no porn or "pLeAsE vOtE" banners that offers downloads of simpsons/star trek: The next generation, or other quality nerd viewing?

What about legal video downloads?
Could anyone direct me to a site that is *legally* distributing some decent divx videos? Homebrew shorts, stuff like that? Not any TV eps or movies. Thanks!

Problems with BOTH isos
Damn, i just cant get those isos burned, both diskjuggler and nero. Ive burn a lot of isos before, but with this one i get the error "illegally parameter" or maybe "block" im not sure. And with nero i get the error "disc at once dont supported" which is typical to me, but its still weird as with all the other programs im able to do it. Any ideas? anything would be truly apreciated, or could someone post an iso of alpha 2 for DJ, made by himself. Thanx.
