Please help me!

Anything DreamSNES-related can be asked in this forum, such as general questions about the emulator, how to burn it, etc.

Please help me!

Post by Gotenks21489 »

I've already wasted around 10 CD-R's trying to burn DreamSNES, and I'm going to waste anymore! (because I ran out) But anyways, I've tried EVERYTHING, but NOTHING works. My DC just doesn't read them, and I checked to see if it was compatible, and it was. The only thing I can think of, is if it matters what color the CD-R is. Does anyone have any ideas at all? :(

I've tried using Selfboot several times, and a number of premade images too. I'll try your suggestions when I get some new CD-R's.

maybee your dc is incompatible... or your burning the images wrong, if you just wunt to get it to work on your system, i suggest not even messing with dc factory or trying to make your own self-boot image.....

I checked to see if it's compatable, and I'm pretty sure it is. (unless I over-looked something) I'll try using an already-made image with a tdk CD-R next time. (Last time I used memorex)

I have a lot of dreamcast games on memorex cd-rs and they work fine. No probs for me. I may not be using the exact same kind as you though(mine were 80 min). I got some tdks just recently b/c they were about the same price at Wal-Mart and they work great too. So, I guess try tdks because they are a better quality cd-r, but....

What are you burning with? DJ? Nero? I prefer Nero personally. Hope my ramblings help :)
I'm like you, I have no name.

Comon guys. You know it's not the media he's using. There is either a problem with the way it's burning or his DC.

I *highly* doubt it's the media you are using. Unless you are using a brand name you can't pronounce you should be okay. Here's some information you should post here for everyone so we can help you better:

CD-RW drive brand/speed/version
Operating system
Manufactured date on the Dreamcast (sticker should say the date on the bottom)

i agree, i use 700mb/80min memorex disc all the time, i have also used TDK disc, and i also have a TDK VeloCD burner, so the media dosnt make much of a difference, unless your using CD-RW's or sumthin, but its probubly the way your burning it. Try using the NERO pre-made image burning that, and making a seprate ROM disc, if that dosnt work try the DiscJuggler image, and if that fails, try dcfactory....

I use dream inducer 2.0 and it's great once you get the hang of it. I also realized after a few coasters in that method tha the roms go in the SNES folder instead of ROMS folder. Even after I asked around NOBODY knew it. Yea right. Anyway, enjoy Gotenks21489

If you're using Nero, try My Boot. I had similar problems so I made my own self boot that worked for me. Use the TAO option. I found it works...for me atleast....

Later!
