Anything DreamSNES-related can be asked in this forum, such as general questions about the emulator, how to burn it, etc.

DSNES ROM menu won't load

Post by Happysin »

Sorry if this has been covered, but I didn't find anything in the sticky help or in the search function.

I have a working copy of the DSnes emu. Starts on my DC fine, plays music fine.

However, I cannot get it to read ROM files. I have tried a different disk with and without the sound directory, I have tried it with a Roms directory, I have tried it on the same disk as my DSnes emulator. It does not work.

Also, the music does not start back up even after I change disks, even when the dick has spun up.

This was all done at 1x burn speed.

Oh, I guess it would help to describe exactly what happenns. The menu pops up for a second blank, but then dissapears very shotly.

Thanks for your help, and if this has been answered, just point me with a URL and i'll find it from there.

your problem is the roms aren't in the right place.... either your rom disc is not burned right or if you selfbooted it the roms aren't in the right place

hrm. I thought they just had to be in the root of the CD.

would it be better if I burned the directory with the music and the ROMs themselves at differnet times (i.e. one then the other)? If so, which first?

Also, I was using Adaptec DirecCD to burn if that makes a difference.

Umm, I did. I did exactly what it said to do, and the variations (like putting them into a directory called "Roms").

Weird.

How long does it normally take for the music to load? It takes like 30 sec some times for the music to load for me.

roms booting

It takes a sec for the music to start. And if you press select game and the screen turns blue and goes away quickly, wait a few seconds and press the A button again.
