XBOX emu
Hey i was wondering if you needed a mod-chip to run the xbox emu's. If not, do you have to burn them on cd-rw? thanks
I have nothing more to say.

It's newer - they switched DVD Drive manufactereurs and as a result the newer ones could read CD-Rs.reaper2k2 wrote:why does yours read cdr's

2002-10-22 - that's probably the manufacturing date. It's European too. I don't know if you can tell anything from that, though.

We all know that the xbox is a pentium 3 800mhz with nivida graphics card....its like an e-mashine with a graphics card......... i am thinking that it wouldent be that hard just to emulate the hardware with a good 2.7ghz pc and another kickass 128Mb graphics card... then all we would need to do is buy an XBOX game, stick it in our dvd drive, maybe buy another heuge microsoft controler (i've seen them) and, there we have it. , this will eventually happen, how soon? i dont know.....i'm just waiting for the PS2 emulator, they have already made a dreamcast emulator for pc, but it only runs burned games.... and i KNOW the ps2 emulator probably has 50times the amout of people working on it! so... probably within a few months there will be one. There sure as hell a lot of trojans and viruses claiming to be xbox/ps2 emulators though! now for gamecube.....they use disk formats other than dvd which thankfully xbox/ps2 uses...(or so we think) so that helps a lot of people out

Don't you think if it were that easy it would have already been done? A few problems present themselves: one, the disks are encoded and read backwards (outside in) which is pretty much the opposite of what your computer dvd-rom is trained to do. Two, Xbox uses ram in a way completely different from any normal computer. It's 'unified ram' would most likely be tough to emulate since the program would be receiving memory calls exepcting just one chunk of ram. And last but not least, it is not a normal geforce card. This card was optimized for the rest of the xbox hardware and have a few added functions built in that aren't found on any geforce card that I am aware of. Those are some huge hurdles to overcome.
Commodore?! On my dreamcast?! *almost wets himself*
