Saving?

Talk about Quake, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, or other DC first person shooting game ports and mods for those games in here.

I 've tried Quake DC and it is astonishing!! Good job guys!! :D

Anyway, I've noticed that I can't save.... :x

Actually I was once able to save on my VMU, but upon loading the file, nothing happened. My DC seemed to have crashed. :evil:

I've chacked up on my VMU, and noticed that Quake DC had created a 119 blocks big savegame file... Then I erased it, because I couldn't load it in the game. Later, it didn't create ANY Savegame file...

My question: Am i doing anything wrong, or what??? :?: [/b]

QuakeDC saves are huge. No way round it.

If a save is too big to fit on the VMU then it wont save anything.

As to why your save wouldnt load... I have no idea. Not a problem I've heard of before.

That's why in my RPG mod I'm making a tiny black room with only 1 entity for saving. :)

That's also why raptors! was only 5 levels long, you can just sit and play it through in one sitting :)

Does that mean, each level you progress- the file size increses?
Ive got 142 blocks on my VMU- however Ive never been able to save a game:(

No. It depends on how complex is the current map where you are.

One of my savegames became corrupted somewhere along the line, and when I loaded the map (house of cthon) it crashed back to the console complaining about an invalid edict. that kinda pissed me off :(
But I've never had any problems with saving.

Maybe the saving system done by Titanium have some bugs...
