Te image was quite likely made using the old Audio/Data method, meaning that it isn't compatible with newer American and Japanese Dreamcasts. Have you ever got the Utopia Boot CD running? THat was Audio/Data too, so if that didn't run then you've found your problem. There's a way to still use CDRecord and maek a Data/Data image, which can be found in the last page or two of the oficial thread.

It is audio/data. I haven't gotten bin2boot to make a proper image yet (re: one that works). The image of v3 that is up works just fine, I've had several other use it. You just have a dreamcast that worn't read audio / data cd's.
Need a Treamcast, Dreamcast modchip, HUGE DC memory card, ASCII-like DC fighter pad, or Saturn Gameshark with tons of backup memory? PM me.

Yeah, fatheadpi said he made this one in the Data/Data format, so it should work in all US Dreamcasts.

If you find bugs, post them in the main browser thread. I need to know what to get rid of in version 6, because this image works fine on my system.

there's the plain files version up now. you should be able to burn that with *whatever* instead of using the boot kit and then boot it up with a boot disc like utopia.

Try updating/getting an ASPI layer. Windows XP doesn't come with one, but once I tried a few 'fixes' cdrecord, cdrwin, everything except pos discjuggler works beautifully.

I believe I got my aspi fix from vcdhelp.com on the tools page. there is also one on the dcemu needed tools page and i believe adaptec allows anyone free downloads of theirs if i'm not mistaken. The CDRECORD (Echelon) method is more difficult to use but after a while, you'll know what to type at that c:\ prompt without even thinking about it and I've had a lot of success with it.

i tested the new XDP3V5 Plain files!
but failed!

this is what i do:
unzip the Plain file to C:\XDP3
then, burn it with my Nero 5.5, "ISO Lv2, mode1, Joliet On",
but failed(i boot it with Utopia 1.1 and 1.2, both failed)

i have killed many CDRs for your XDP3
can you tell me where is the problem

I beieve the 1st_read.bin in all releases I've downloaded have already been scrambled, so I wouldn't scramble them again.

This might sound like it goes without saying, but you aren't 'adding folder' when you burn, are you? All files like 1st_read.bin, ogdtex.pvr, etc should be in the cd root. DPWWW, DPETC, should be added as folders seperately, again in the cd root. Make sure you're doing it that way. I don't use nero so I can't tell you exactly what to select in what menus, but that's the only thing I can think of that would keep it from working.

Well, if you're using the Utopia Boot Disc they need to be UNSCRAMBLED, so run the BAT file for that.
