Report: Final Fantasy VII-2?
By: Christian Nutt November 6, 2002 11:53 AM PST
Hot on the heels of the formal announcement of Final Fantasy X-2, Japanese site Quiter is reporting that series' producer Yoshinori Kitase mentioned a possible sequel to the series' most popular installment, Final Fantasy VII, in the upcoming issue of Japan's number one game magazine, Famitsu.
According to Quiter, in an interview in the mag, Kitase says that he would like to make a continuation to FFVII -- and lots of other people do, too, including character designer Tetsuya Nomura (who recently debuted as a director in his own right with Square's immensely popular Kingdom Hearts.) Kitase goes on to say that since there are so many ardent fans of the game, they don't want to make a bad game. Consequently, concrete plans and a schedule for the game have not been decided upon.
It sounds a bit far-fetched, but so did FFX-2 until it happened. We'll see what develops in the future.

yeah...kind of like that Dumb & Dumber sequel that was planed, but never made. I'm glad they didn't do that.|darc| wrote:This sucks.
I love FFVII, it's my favorite game of all time, but... Some games don't need a sequel, and things are better off alone. Also, It'd be on PS2, and I don't want this game to be split upon console wars.
If it did come out for PS2, I'd buy a PS2.

I heard they were going to make a prequel not a sequel.liltimmyw wrote: yeah...kind of like that Dumb & Dumber sequel that was planed, but never made. I'm glad they didn't do that.
If you think typing 'make' is hard, forget coding.
If you can't figure out the commands to DC-Tool, forget coding.
If you think coding is as easy as typing printf("Hello World\n"); , shoot yourself.

a sequel?
cool maybe that'll explain the ending better... well maybe not.
there isn't really much to go on though and what would you kill? last time you went all over the world and destroyed practically everything. so what? you kill them all again at a higher level?

The reason for having: A firewall
Independance day, the aliens were destroyed because a computer was used to access their network and disable key systems. If they had had a firewall, the earth would be just another worthless rock floating in space.

Well, due to the unsusual ending to the original FFVII many believed a sequel would be impossible - the most popular interpretation on the ending is that the Earth was saved but humanity was wiped out, leaving only Red XIII's ancestors on the Earth. But I guess that wasn't it then .

While the CGI cutscenes were very cool, They are the equivalent to MGS2's gameplay graphics... Maybe worseliltimmyw wrote:yeah, i loved the graphics. and the CGIs were great|darc| wrote:They weren't, but I love them for some reason. I wouldn't want to see them any other way. Have you seen Cloud in Kingdom Hearts? He's a bit like Auron from FFX, but he kicks ass! If only they'd gone ahead and remade FFVII-IX, like they would have if the movie hadn't failed .Veggita2099 wrote:Yea the chairactor graphics wasn't the best on that game.AmadeusZull wrote:i hope they beef up cloud. i swear my prick is wider then his arms.
