Best web dev Software

Post by compacho »

Does anyone know a web developing software thats easy to use?

I'm thinking about downloading.....errr, purchasing Adobe Golive. I think the fact that i know how to use photoshop might help make it easier using Go live. What other good software are out there?

NO WAREZ...
Dreamweaver is a great choice. I found a full discount copy of Dreamweaver 3 on Ebay (for students) for $35. Although it isn't the latest version, it's a fine choice for personal / small business.

easily, there's a "wizard" where you can assign images for each menu item and their phases (up, down, etc.)

I use Dreamweaver for all the sites I make. It's pretty much the easiest, which is good because despite my good art skills, my web skills are not good at all.

cortas plan to make websites:
1. make your template in frontpage
2. make all the pages in frontpage
3. clean up the html
4. make up an html template
5. do everything in notepad from there on out

http://devcast.dcemulation.org is a success following that method... well not really a success, but it works

The best web dev software is homesite 5, followed closely by Edit Plus2, and trailing behind is notepad. Lazy people.

nothing, just the satisfaction and/or headache of coding it yourself
personally, i feel that until you have to make a web page in 12 hours, you won't appreciate Dreamweaver's (or any other editor) beneficial attributes.

Clean HTML. You have complete and total control as well.

If you are going to do any PHP/ASP/etc you are best off using homesite or edit plus2 any way. If you are just making a crappy peresonal site use a wysiwyg editor.

There is no headaches with notepad, HTML is self explanatory and simple. Any graphics you need you can do in a graphics program :p

Personally I'm a big fan of the Namo WebEditor series. I've got versions 2 and 3 from magazine covers, and I have to say they're the best going - simple for the beginners, and advanced as you want it to be for any purpose. Newer versions (5+) support WAP pages too.

I use a nifty little program called EditPad...basically a nicer version of NotePad. Every now and then I'll use things like FrontPage to get a handle on things I'm not too sure about...but I hate it.

Anyways, I made this site with NotePad/EditPad. I like it!

And Corta, why would you have to defend yoursefl? I see nothing wrong with you. Anyone nice enough to sell me a part I needed it a good guy to me!

Later!

Shame on you for using frames! You should know better. They take more work and make a site look, umm, bad.
