Who care if there doing fine on there current path? I mean if Sega would have got MS to dish out money on DC it would still be #1 instead of Sega boosting MS.
DNR the current kickass dc programer. Thanks
for the emulator I've been waiting 2 years for.
Thanks to Reaper2k2 also for showing interest into WSC emulation.

personally, i feel that Sega doesn't want to pimp their license to MS because of the XBox's performance in Japan. Sure, they would have poop loads of money, but if no one buys, who fudgin cares? Microsoft now has a less-than-par reputation in Japan and maybe not even Sega can save em.
Note: Please, no flames concerning my status on the Mac vs. PC debate. I am a Mac user because I am worried about Microsoft's business practices. Me loving the mac makes me bias so fudgin shoot me...

i would love to see sega just bust out a new console, dreamcast v2, it would be DREAM come true.
from what i read the hardware unit costs of the Xbox, which it estimates at $325 per unit ? resulting in a $150 loss on each console sold in the USA, where the system is sold to retail at about $175. Per-unit losses will be somewhat higher in Japan, where the console has had its (already very low) price slashed aggressively in order to shore up weak sales. Here in Europe, where the Xbox is most expensive, losses will still be in the order of at least $50 per console.
microcrap is losing a lot of money i would say.
Sources within Microsoft have quoted internal estimates showing the company losing ?525m ($750m) on the Xbox project this fiscal year (which ends this month)...
thats a lot of money.
personally i dont like microcrap or there xcrap console. thats just my opinion..
information came from http://gamesindustry.biz/content_page.p ... ub&aid=210
i would love for dreamcast to make a new console..
oh yeah that info on xbox i just figured i would throw in here, someone may be interested in it.

They don't care... they wanna get into the market. and if you don't realize, it takes about 3 games to break even I believe, and so far that IS the average and they are near breaking even... microsoft doesnt CARE if they lose... they wanna get into the market. Once we get into the future consoles and microsoft has a gaming image and less idiots that keep calling it microcrap we'll see more great stuff.e1x5x wrote:i would love to see sega just bust out a new console, dreamcast v2, it would be DREAM come true.

HOT OFF THE PRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I just read this in PCPowerPlay
"Sega senior executives have revealed a plan to be the US's second largest games publisher by the end of the year and have an eye for the number one spot in 2004. Part of their strategy involves some serious spending.
Sega Vice President Charles Bellfield said that the only publisher thet they could rule out as a possible purchase was industry number one EA, with its US$1.7 billion renue. Many of the smaller, public companies were on the menu, with Acclaim, 3DO, Midway and Interplay all being within Sega's price range.
Investors are taking Sega's plans so seriously that after a report in the Wall Street Journal shares in Infogrames jumped 23% based on the possibility of a Sonic takeover"

Don't you read, they do not have the money to buy EA. They do have the money to buy the smaller firms however. And I don't think Sega would be stupid enough to blow all of their cash this time around. They will have no where left to go.clessoulis wrote:Ya if they buy EA and all those other compaines they will be broke also.
