Should I buy a new dreamcast to keep closed up?

Hey,

They are still selling new Dreamcasts on Amazon. I was thinking of buying one just to keep in case mine breaks or something.

Amazon equals "Limited Availability" as far as Dreamcast systems go. That usually seems to mean that they don't have any, but won't yet admit to having none, under the pretense that they MAY have some at an unspecified time in the future.

Unless you want to pay a 50% premium for a used system from Amazon Marketplace.

I think it is a wise thing to do. Ofcourse, older systems are not too difficult to acquire, but the games can be difficult. If you have the money, I would say jump on it. I know when I move out, I'll buy a bunch of dreamcasts to build my budget arcade.

I love my DC, although i dont think i would buy another one, maybe if the one i have now gets f'ed, then i would.

I think it would be cool to have one and never open it. May be worth something someday if they ever become rare items.

DC's wont be rare, Saturns aren't rare and even less popular. Right now there's more demand for them, but the demand will go, and so will the price. It will be the $30 console (with games included) of the future. But hey, as long as you love it, who cares.

First my 79? coders cable.

Then a while back i was driving ona parkway (natchez trace) and i spent the night in a crummy little town. I needed something to do so i went to the local toys r us. i picked up a genesis, a DC, and a crap load of games for like 90$
