My great video game deal...

Post by Lartrak »

I think I just got the best video game deal of my life...

Genesis
Ghouls'N Ghosts
Aladdin

SNES
Secret of Mana
Joe & Mac
Super Smash TV
Kirby's Super Star
Yoshi's Island

NES
Castlevania 2
Super Mario Bros. 2 (which I'm ashamed to admit I've never owned before)
Maniac Mansion

All the above (they're all cart only, but still) for about $20. One of the better deals I've seen, the best I've ever gotten. Any of you ever have any ones as great or greater?

Early 2002, I was desperate for a Dreamcast. I scoured everywhere, and eventually found one in an Argos catalogue - for ?99.99, with no games. It was an old catalogue, and they'd been removed from the new one, but I rang up to see anyway. Luckily, they had two left in stock, at ?49.99!

So, I went in-store on bought the console. The box clearly describes the contents as being just the console, controller, necessary cables and a lone demo disc. So, I went to the nearby Electronics Boutique and bought Headhunter, a memory unit with rumble pack, and a second-hand copy of Sonic Adventure for ?12.

I got it to the car, opened it up to see what it looked like, and they had accidentally included copies of Chu Chu Rocket and Sonic Adventure :D. So, I returned the second-hand copy of Sonic Adventure, and ended up with a console and two games for ?50, instead of twice that for the console on its own.

Currys, I love you and your (incompetent) staff who label "all those old games" with the same markdown sticker.

Well I like to wheel and deal, as liltimmyw can tell you.

Atari2600 with several games, 10 Intellivision games, and odds and ends $4 (sold for $50)

Atari2600 with several games, poor condition $1. (sold on eBay for $30)

I have bought and sold - oh- probably 15 or 20 copies of Wind Waker on ebay for about $15 markup each. Also done this with FFX2, Luigi's Mansion and others.

Lunar 2 Eternal Blue $5 (sold on ebay for $35)

and the Keepers:
Klonoa 2 for $7
Castlenania SOTN (not GH) for $6

I got an Atari 2600, Atari 7800, two joysticks for each, hookups, and 22 games for $4. I'd say your deal was better though.

I reserved mine, so I payed full price. Still was worth it, though, to get it the day it was released. Although that did remind me of another deal:

Bought boxed PAL Terranigma on the SNES for ?5

The eBay value at the minute is around ?40, should've sold it back when I first got and could've made near double that

I'll probably just keep it though
