I really liked that game to a certain point. I loved the battle system, and the story was decent enough. But the diving segments were kinda stupid. Even my wife thought they were a bit too 'out there'.

Anyway, my recent purchases:

Guilty Gear 2: Overture
Preorder for Metroid Prime Trilogy

Question: where did you go to find Ico? Did you order it online, or did you find it at a local store?

I saw a copy of it sitting at Gamestop yesterday for $30, and I thought that was expensive. Seeing your post made me look on Amazon, and it turns out $30 is actually a bargain. I had no idea it was rare. Glad I still have my copy I bought from Blockbuster for $12.

Funny. I bought it two years ago from Gamestop for about $5 used, but now it doesn't seem to be available anywhere... and Amazon sellers want an arm and a leg.

I bought it a few years ago at Blockbuster for $5 as well, beat the game, and sold it for $3ish not knowing what it was worth. I got it today at a local music store called CD Tradepost for $17. It's used but in pristine condition, it looks like it has never been played, booklet has never been opened, and even includes the PS Underground ads still.

What kind of mod do you have? Mod chip, swap disc, or flip top mod? I'm not good with installing mod chips, hate the way the flip top mod looks and I don't want to pay $30 for a swap disc. I see some videos online on how you can use tissue paper and duct tape to mod your slim PS2 to use boot discs, and there's a video showing a guy using a legit copy of THPS2 to boot PSX games, do you know if there's a way to boot PS2 backups without the Swap Magic, Action Replay, Codebreaker, or any other storebought swap disc?

To be honest, I'm not so sure. The Slim seems to be a little more difficult to mod-- I just found an ebay auction for the Slim that included the Swap Disk (for less than $50 total). It's kindof annoying having to use that disk, especially since most games can be had for $5-15, but there were only a select few games I want to play for the system. Will likely be getting rid of it after I finish FFX.

I bought a game with zombies in it, an Xbox 360 indie release by the guy who did Dishwasher: Dead Samurai

It's a 4 player local co-op twinstick shooter. It's pretty stupid but good fun and only 80ms points or about $1, £1, etc

That bad? Or is it just another random SoulCalibur game--not bad, but nothing really memorable?

It always seemed to me that there was Soul Calibur, and then there was "SoulCalibur-any-other-version." There's the original/Dreamcast game, which I enjoyed very much and felt was relatively well balanced. Then there's 2-4 and all the spinoff versions, which all look and feel the same as each other but have very different timing from the original (in SC1, there was significant recovery time from each of your moves, which felt more realistic and became part of your fighting strategy, and in all the sequels, moves are instantaneous and you can always pull off another move immediately after). Sure, they tweaked the roster with each iteration, and added a level editor after 2, but for the most part every SC after the first felt like just a repackaged version of the same thing.

Kinda like that yeah. I enjoyed SC4, but the PSP version is really watered-down in terms of features/unlockables etc. Just not much to do in it, and everything there is to do I've already done before.

Soul Calibur 3 (PS2) - $0

For free, even if it is scratched up, and has no case/instructions, I couldn't turn it down.
