A GD-ROM (Gigabyte Disc) is a variation of the CD-ROM that contains a low density, linearly-read section, a security ring to verify authenticity, and an angularly-read high-density section. All official software for the Dreamcast was distributed in this format. The other disc format the Dreamcast used is the MIL-CD.
