Wow, that game is looking really nice. Looks like they will have a "fatality" move of sorts called the Final Smash. No mention of online play though :( . When is this game supposed to come out? I was hoping for at least one new decent title for the gamecu...wii in 2007 :P

Wow, that site has hardly anything on it. Still, you can notice quite a decent graphical improvement.

Any word on controls yet?

Yup, keep those cube pads or buy some classic console ones.
I heard that too, but if you look at the "How to Play" tab on the website, you can see a Wii-mote positioned sideways (a la Excite Truck). Maybe you can play this way too?

Also, did anyone look at the musicians page? Sweet Jebus, this could potentially be the best OST ever.

I'm pretty sure nintendo went back on what they said about gamecube controllers recently, and the guy in charge over there said that 4 player online matches would be very hard to get up and running but they are trying.

I'm waiting for sonic to be announced, you know its coming.

i wonder if you can do 8 or 12 player with this game. 4 gc controllers, 4 wiimotes, 4 classic controllers. I rented bust a move for the wii and it allowed 8 player in a wiimote-cc combo and a wiimote-nunchuck combo.

I hope the maps have more to them then just left to right, up or down. Thats why I really didn't like the gamecube one, it's 3d but fells like 2d maps. I prefer the power stone approach to battle fields.

No. Smash Bros is not becoming true 3D.

That's the whole premise and only way it will play best.

Go play Powerstone and tell me if you think 3D would make SSBB a better game.

Smash Brothers is supposed to be simple. There's no need for fancy 3D battlefields or hard to pull off mega combos. With Smash Brothers you should be able to use a character for a few matches and have figured out most of the character's moves.

Thats my biggest complaint about fighting games are those giant multi button combos to do decent moves, smash bros you only have to press one button and a direction with your analog stick and nothing else it seems and you can be effective.

I like the game because of they way Smash Brothers scores the rounds. It pisses me off how in most fighters you're simply dead when your energy reaches zero. In smash brothers you're not dead until you get knocked off the level. It doesn't look that revolutionary in writing but it's hard not to appreciate it's awsomeness after playing a few rounds. A character's weakness can go well over 100% but with the right items, some careful D and a little bit of luck the playing field can be evened. It also makes some hilarious moments.

Anyone check out the update of the Princess yet? Hot!

I agree about the hilarious moments. Watching people try to get back on the platform can become very entertaining.

Yup, should also give us some hints on what characters will be featured in the game. Seems there will be Grandia characters and with Yuzo Koshiro there could be some from Streets of Rage, Shinobi or even Sonic :D

I wonder how many new characters will be brought into brawl, with melee they brought in like 14 characters or something. In brawl we have like 5 new characters announced, Id like to see more than that.
