Hasney, you forgot GAPLESS PLAYBACK! A lot of people have really been waiting for that..
Man, I should've waited to get my iPod. I hope the iPod's gapless playback is included in an iPod firmware update, it seems they're still including this iPod in 5th Generation... I can live with a dimmer screen and 20gb less storage..

Wait, what? Gapless playback? Seriously? Is it only going to be with the new iPods coming out or are they going to release an update for all other iPods too? I have a 5G video iPod 30gb.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just installed iTunes 7 and it's going through all my songs determining gapless playback information. YES!!!!!!!

This is mostly good (helps make up for the snore-fest that that was the developers' convention a month or two ago). The iPods still need removable batteries, though (I refuse to buy one until they do), and the TV unit is too expensive. Also, those movie downloads--not that I'll be using them, but still--should really be in a widescreen resolution. Other than that, not bad.

They're experimenting with a couple different window UI's.
Final Cut Pro
Aperture
Mail/Preview
iTunes
They are all different, and they are listening to feedback on all of them. This strongly hints at the idea of a unified interface in Leopard. iTunes looks reallly.... linuxy right now. Pretty Linuxy, but nevertheless does not look like an OSX program anymore.
Then again I hated when they got rid of the brushed metal iTunes UI, but after a while I was so happy they did.

How does that work? I mean, I always assumed it was a hardware limitation, so how can it make an iPod have gapless playback without a firmware update? Not that I'm complaining, though.ace wrote:It's handled through iTunes 7. It has nothing to do with your iPod. If you download iTunes 7, gapless playback works.

Are you sure? It didn't seem to work properly for me until I updated to iPod Firmware v1.2, but I could be wrong. It seems to me that if that was the case someone would have gotten gapless playback working on it long ago.ace wrote:It's handled through iTunes 7. It has nothing to do with your iPod.
