I can't believe this... Probably they'll just stop for some time, and wait for the popularity of fighting games to increase again. They've been releasing several fighting games per year in the last years.

I want to see a more reliable source. I don't doubt that it is true that Noritaka Funamizu is leaving Capcom, but I do doubt that Capcom would stop making fighting games when they have a large following for them.

I'm not say i belive it, but i have to admit it would be a refershing change. I mean i've bought almost every single capcom game released but in reality they are just new versions of old material. Hopefully this isn't the end and they will start up again once they have a new hardware system and possible better sprites. I would love to see some Guilty Gear quality sprites for the capcom characters.
But that place is pretty reliable i read there that Nobou was quiting Square Enix there long before it was announced in america. so... -shrugs- jsut gotta wait for the final vertic
To me, Capcom is the Street Fighter and Megaman series.. sad day indeed, should it be true.
At least.. we'll still have the millions of versions of Street Fighter 2 to keep us busy ..
i think its due to the rising popularity of 3d fighters that capcom decided to do it. they have never really been that great at 3d fighting games. the rival schools series was great, but it was just a 2d fighting game in 3d. not quite the same.
