PS2 for ?100 ( in UK )

I heard from a friend that lives in Cheltenham that PS2 will drop to ?100 in the UK around late jan or early feb.

This is to boost sales & get more ppl to spend there money on PS2 products/ games rather than buying an XBOX that comes out in march.

I,am not sure about europe though, what is the source you ask.

Well it comes from my friends, friend who works in a sony store in Cheltenham.

Personaly i dont beleave it, maybe ?150 but surely not ?100

Also good is Silent Scope 2 and Time Crisis 2s! The best games for the spoilt brat with more than one Playstation!!!! LOL

I remember hearing a few months ago that the price of the PS2 was going to drop a fair bit because Sony were going to remove the ability to play DVD movies on the system & sell a DVD add-on like Microsoft is doing with the Xbox. Don't no if it's true though.

I hope the PS2 price drops in America soon...

...but then again I'm pretty much happy with my Xbox.

yup i see a price drop of $50 here in US - PS2 is seeling quite well between xbox and gc.

ps2 hitting with some hot games now.

still waiting 4 some killer xbox games besides halo (not my type of game)

PS2 ?100? not for a long while, maybe Christmas next year? Thats if its still alive after the Gamecube/Xbox launches....mind you, I hope games get a lot cheaper....I only got 3 PS2 games....they are too bloody expensive!

In Dixons you can get a ps2 for ?99

... if you buy 5 full price games as well

Yeah thats probably what your friend meant by a PS2 for ?100.

Ive seen the offer that ajay mentioned, the price you end up paying is just a few pounds short of ?300 but I think the choice of five games you choose is from a limited selection.

They won't completely remove the ability to play DVD's.....you'll just need a Dvd Remote

Ha,I don't agree, I went over to IGN a little while ago, and they said that SONY had said they would NOT drop the price of the PS2, but instead they would bundle the PS2 with the hard drive and network cable for the same price. But the PS2 will not go down in price, it will just have stuff with it. And I also read that people who already have one would have to get one year of AOL to get these add ons. AOL SUCKS!
