Yes, it depends on how many volts they require.

the power board

Post by Digital_Wolf »

Are there any schematics of the power board so I can connect the wires the right way. Or is there a tutorial on how to do this. And what is the maximum watts/volts I can put on it.

If you can tell me how many watts the bulbs need and how many volts they need to pull, i can tell you how to hook it up.

dude thats actually pretty cool, i think im gonna ditch my paint job (for now) and scrounge some money for a clear white dc case and get some cold cathode neon...mmmm that would look good, and when i get around to it, i might put the 7 color led in the power light.

Before doing this, consider that NEON lights are virtual noise broadcasting stations. You run the risk of making your DC unstable because you may drastically increase the electrical noise floor on the internal circuit boards.

Also, neon will add even more heat to a design that is somewhat thermally stressed as it is. Is a glowing DC really worth it if it burns up in a few months use?

IMHO... keep this crap out of your DC and under your car. Better yet... don't use any neon on anything. You'll have a lot less people secretly laughing at you. :)

yeah, i've checked there, but they only have pink, purple, and white left. does anybody know of any other stores to buy cases? I remember seeing a replacement clear lid with the dc logo on it somewhere.

Don't you guys find all those lights distracting? I mean the main focus should be the screen, however, there was a computer mod show here a few months back, and it wasn't a computer that won, but a modified PS2. Hahaha!!!! I feel sorry for all those guys with the Sup'd Up Multi-thousand dollar PC's. They were mad.
