Emulator MAME 0.115u2

System PC - Windows etc..

Arcade emu, news
MAMETesters Bugs Fixed cidelsa0114u4gre [Aaron Giles, for real this time]
# pignewta0115u1gra [ShimaPong]
# gorf0115u1ora [Aaron Giles]

Source Changes
# Merged in a couple of minor tweaks from MAME Plus! [MAME Plus!]
# Fixed China Gate high scores. [Robbert]
# Fixed Final Lap R/Speed Racer graphics. [Zsolt Vasvari]
# Added a new opcode for Match It 2. There still are 4 unknown opcodes and the "no tiles" bug before it will be promoted to working status. [Pierpaolo Prazzoli]
# Changed the CRTC6845 emulator to optionally control the screen configuration and video rendering. Updated the Qix and Spiders driver to use the new functionality. Added notifications for when the display enable pin changes in order to drive blanking signals. [Zsolt Vasvari]
# New 74123 timer emulator. It supports different ways a 74123 can be hooked up that affect the timing period. The old implementation was incorrect in lots of respects. [Zsolt Vasvari]
# Removed the addressing order parameter from pia_config() and replaced it with dedicated write and read handlers. [Zsolt Vasvari]
# Fixed bug in win_get_window_text_utf8() for when a window's text is an empty string. [Nathan Woods]
# Fixed some page 1 opencode lengths in the 6309 dissasembler. [Tim Lindner]
# Added DIP switches to Master Boy according to the game manual. [ClawGrip]
# Added DIP switch information to the Poizone driver. [Luigi30]
# Changed png2bdc to support multiple input PNGs. [Aaron Giles]
# Fixed recently introduced bug in Astrocade driver relating to collision detection. [Aaron Giles]
# Added support for controlling the default scale/offset for screens at the driver level. This allows us to properly describe the screen width/height and blanking in the driver independent of specifying a good default size to crop the image to. [Aaron Giles]
# Added border support to the Astrocade driver. Extended the starfield generation out into it. Extended the blanking region out farther to match information from the flyers and set the default scale/offset of the games to crop appropriately. [Aaron Giles]
# Fixed the CDP1869 to fill the border area with the background color. Added cropping to the Cidelsa games. [Aaron Giles]
# Corrected speaker locations and placement for Gorf and Wizard of Wor. Added missing mux to Gorf's audio, which controls speech versus sound effects during the game. [Aaron Giles]

Rewrote nyny driver: [Zsolt Vasvari]
# Game speed should now be correct. It was way too slow before
# Added star field. The game can stop and reverse the direction of the star field by changing a delay counter
# General driver clean-up
# Fixed DIP switches and the voices

New games added or promoted from NOT_WORKING status
# Multi Game [Mariusz Wojcieszek]

New games marked as GAME_NOT_WORKING
# Chameleon 24 [Mariusz Wojcieszek]

Emulator WinUAE 1.4.3 Public Beta 2

System PC - Windows

Amiga emu, news:
Beta 1:

- use Segoe UI font only if running on Vista
- separated native and P96 vsync setting, note that P96 vsync has never been "real" vsync but sync to internal refresh rate which isn't usually same as real host refresh rate. Sound problems fixed when P96 VSync and 56KHz "audio trick" was enabled.
- sprite attachment fix, fixes "Great Demo" by "The Tremendous Trio"
- clear sound buffer before reopening window/fullscreen
- delayed CDTV CD inserted notification (Xenon 2)
- CDTV CD audio stop command fix (DOTC2, ChaosInAndromeda CD player)
- added MB RAM support to debugger's search commands
- Paths-panel improved, added previously "hidden" AMIGAFOREVERDATA environmental variable (if set), and separated AF2005 and "new" WinUAE
paths (only difference is default KS ROM path, AF2005 = <root>\..\system\rom, WinUAE is <root>\roms or <root>\rom)
- Quickstart-panel DF1: disable/enable checkbox added (available only in configurations that have DF0: enabled)

Beta 2: Mostly pointless SCSI stuff here but at least I learned a lot about low level SCSI protocols

- WD33C93 + (Super)DMAC based SCSI HDF emulation. A590/A2091, A3000 and CDTV with SCSI expansion. Current implementation is very minimal. A590/A2091 Boot ROMs 6.0, 6.6 and 7.0 tested and confirmed working. A3000 random KS ROMs (including "1.4") also confirmed working. CDTV with 1.0 extended ROM freezes during standard WB 1.3 startup-sequence (works if run manually..) Newer extended ROMs work without freezes. NOTE: disconnect/reconnect not emulated (yet?), SCSI Message out + Command + Data in/out + Status + Message in phases emulated. Most WD33C93 registers are not emulated. Non-tested drivers (KS versions) most likely won't work yet. Check the log!

- A3000 KS "1.4" added to ROM list (yes, it is beta but it came with some A3000s) Need confirmed official A3000 and A4000(T) information before more A3000/A4000(T) ROMs will be added. (Note A3000 ROMs, not SuperKickstart images!)
- A590/A2091 6.0, 6.6 and 7.0 added to ROM list. A590/A2091 ROM is automatically selected, manual rom selection is not possible.
- A590/A2091 Guru ROM added to ROM list (not yet supported, I need A590/A2091 autoconfig er_InitDiagVec value first, Scout shows it)
- A4091 40.9 (no CRC available yet) and 40.13 ROM added to ROM list. NCR SCSI (A4091 and A4000T) is not yet emulated.

- Action Cartridge Super IV Professional emulated partially, also added support for Super IV "ROM version" (Super IV cartridge does not have any ROM chips, "ROM" is loaded from disk) Loader disk does not work yet! Interface is very different compared to Action Replay series.

Super IV image in the zone. "Can you upload"-type SCSI boot ROM related questions will be deleted.

* Various OpenGL optimizations to reduce unnecessary state changes and texture copies (sgothel)

Emulator WinUAE 1.4.3 Public Beta 3

System PC - Windows

Amiga emu, news:
ROM rescan required. I will delete your so called bug report if you didn't rescan roms! (normal users will update from <1.4.3 to 1.4.3 which means automatic rescan so no stupid questions either)

- ROM scan report dialog was totally broken
- uaescsi.device backends (SPTI/ASPI) are now available in new SCSI emulation mode. Checkbox added to advanced chipset, merges all SCSI and IDE CD/DVD devices automatically, does not override configured HDFs. Not multithreaded yet = emulation is stopped while SCSI command is executing = mostly useless for real world tasks, also SCSI configuration panel is still not implemented..
- confirmed A3000 3.1 ROM added to rom scan list.
- floppy drive sound GUI didn't work correctly if fdrawcmd.sys was not installed (=no PC floppy drives listed)
- A3000 36.141 KS ROM SCSI driver compatiblity fix (long word writes to byte wide WD33C93 registers.. not the first time Commodore ignored their own programming guidelines.. )
- A3000 SuperKickstart support hack, SuperKickstart loading works! (simple memory map remap hack, there is no MMU!)
- QS panel does not anymore complain about boot block crc error if disk is A1000 Kickstart disk or A3000 SuperKickstart disk
- A3000 Quickstart settings added, 1.4 = KS with Kickstart menu, SuperKickstart disk (or HD installed SuperKickstart) required. (also try clicking on top/left corner..)
- added "need 68030 CPU" dialog (KS 1.4)
- added expansion boot rom missing dialog
- added process breakpoint debugger feature (KB)
- GPL Ghostscript registry installation detection added (AFPL was only supported previously)
- Ghostscript printing fixed (only worked previously by accident..)
- built-in HRTMon moved to Cartridge ROM select menu
- added "real" SuperIV cart emulation (=need loader disk)
- debugger deep trainer improved. "D[<s><dix> <[max diff]>]" Di = value must increase, Dd = decrease, abs(new value minus old value) must be smaller than "max diff". s = 1 = byte, 2 = word. long words not supported. (defaults to byte) Signed integers used in comparison. NOTE: not really tested, I was not interested

Emulator JasminEmu

System Java

ZX Spectrum emu, news:
It runs on Windows, Linux and Mac with Java 1.5.0 or newer installed.

The emulator leverages JOGL for graphics, and JOAL for audio. Since I'm developing it on a Mac, I'd like to know how does it perform on other systems. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Note, that JasminEmu is still in very early development stage. Don't expect it to run fast and flawlessly. I decided to host the open-source project on Google Code. The project is named jasminemu. Note, that only a small part of all sources are available at this moment; the remaining part needs minor refactoring and organising before publishing.

Hmm only just noticed the links dont seem to open new windows anymore, odd

Emulator Model 2 emulator 0.5a

System PC - Windows

Model 2 arcade emu, news:
This is a small bugfix release:
# Fixed (hopefully at last) the analog wraparound bug.
# Fixed wrong colour table translation in vcop medium and expert levels.

Added a couple of useful features:
# Launch game from commandline (just add the driver name. ex: Emulator.exe stcc)
# Auto-switch to fullscreen after game loading (the option is in the Video menu)
* Model 2 Emulator v0.5a. This package includes both the normal and MultiCPU versions exes.

Emulator ZsnexBox 3.2

System Xbox

Snes emu, news:
# Added a game guide/faq viewer. Start a game and exit to the in game menu. Select "Load Game Guide". Place guides (text format) in the "guides" directory. The best place to get game guides is http://www.gamefaqs.com. Navigation through the guide is: *Dpad up = 1 line up
# *Dpad down = 1 line down
# *Dpad left = go back a page
# *Dpad right = go forward a page
# *L or R trigger = analog scrolling
# *Left analog stick = move text left or right
I have also included a game guide and an interesting interview with the original author of ZSNES.
# Added a bookmark system for the guides. I figure it would be a pain to have to find the spot you need every time you open the guide (some guides are hundreds of pages long). So the emulator will always remember/save the last place you were at in each guide.
# Added option to change the bookmark path in the Path.ini (make sure you delete your old Path.ini or add the new line in the correct spot)
# Added option to change the number of lines displayed, font color, and font size for the guides. This is more intended for HD users since they will have bigger screens than non HD users. I chose a default font size where you can see the entire guide without scrolling left/right.
# Added a "Force PAL 50 Video" option. If you are a PAL user, you can force the display refresh rate to 50 (useful for PAL games if your Xbox is set to Pal 60 I would imagine). This option is only valid for PAL users. I have no way to test this feature. If it somehow causes harm to your TV/Xbox/life, don't blame me. ZsnexBox comes with no warrenty. But if it does work, please post your results in this thread.

Emu WIP Daedalus PSP wip status update
It's been a couple of weeks since the last update. As people tend to get a bit nervous when I don't update regularly, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm ok and still thinking about getting R12 ready :)

I'm still in the middle of looking at fixing the various dynarec bugs which are keeping Super Smash Bros from working with Dynarec enabled. I've not made as much progress as I would have liked since the last post, as I've been very busy with work and various other commitments. Hopefully I should get a bit more time to work on R12 from the end of this week. I'll post an update as soon as I have more news to report on.

Emulator Mame .115u3

System PC - Windows

source.diff time, news:
MAMETesters Bugs Fixed
----------------------
connect4_0115u1ora [Luigi30]

Source Changes
--------------
Fixed PIA numbers in revamped Spiders driver. [Zsolt Vasvari]

Updated TIA graphics code is the code from the MESS repository. Also
updated tourtabl driver to accommodate the changes. [Wilbert Pol]

Fixed Space Firebird so that the sprites are opaque with respect to
each other and bullets, but transparent with respect to the star
field. [Zsolt Vasvari]

Fixed subtle behavior in handling of PIA port A. This allows for the
removal of hacks in the Qix driver and the Williams driver.
[Zsolt Vasvari]

Cleaned up the tilemap get_info callbacks: [Atari Ace]
* regularized and clean up the existing callbacks
* changed some callbacks to use int tile_index as the parameter
so that all callbacks use consistent naming
* folded some direct uses of tile_info.flags into calls to
SET_TILE_INFO()
* changed the Konami drivers to manipulate the tile_info global only
within the tile_get_info callbacks
* replaced all the callback declarations with TILE_GET_INFO()
wrappers
* changed the interface to pass tile_info as a parameter and made
tile_info a static variable only accessible inside tilemap.c.

Significant changes to the berzerk driver: [Zsolt Vasvari]
- Video timings, memory map and interrupt system implemented from
schematics
- Hooked up colors according to the schematics as well. The colors
changed significantly. For example the yellow robots are now
more like a mustard color.

More ARM wrestling: [R. Belmont]
- Fixed error in carry propagation on ALU opcodes of the form
ALU r1, r2, r3 SHIFTEROP #imm
- Fixed Thumb ADD instructions where the PC is involved
- Fixed LDMIA to mask off bits 0 and 1 of the destination address
- MSR instruction now properly respects processor mode and field
code flags

Modernized the Beam Invaders, Clay Shoot, and Embargo drivers.
[Zsolt Vasvari]

Changed the sound balance in Thunder Dragon 2 to match the original
PCB. Also verified the 68000 clock. [Corrado Tomaselli]

Fixed several more opcodes in the encrypted Irem CPU. [Robiza]

Fixed disassembly of brset and brclr opcodes in the 68HC11 core.

port of DosBox, news:
This patch, when applied to dosbox 0.60 and linked with these library functions, arwin's p-sprint and SDL (with 8-bit surface patch), gets dosbox running on the psp. Later versions use an array too large to fit in the PSP memory for indexing memory pages while this version has high level emulation of dpmi. I've tested simcity 2000 and tie fighter and they run although very slowly, a lot of optimization will be need if this will be usable. Note that stat fails if the root of the memory stick is what is being checked therefore it cannot be mounted. Mounting ms0:/psp works fine though. Also there is currently no mouse or joystick support.

Emu WIP PCSX2 WIP update Zero Eater
Real Time Clock (RTC) has been recently implimented by Refraction. PCSX2 now takes the current system time from your OS and inserts the value into PCSX2 upon launch, from that point onwards the emulated RTC counts independently from the OS.

So? you wonder, well apart from the BIOS now displaying the correct time and date - you would think this is a minor addition to PCSX2, nothing more than an addition to authenticity? Well you're in for a suprise!

It struck me when talking to Refraction over a cup of coffee, Metal Gear Solid 3 uses system time for various fun aspects of the game - Such as being able to kill The End from old age if you set the RTC 1 year ahead after saving during the battle.

Metal Gear Solid 3 had never done anything under PCSX2, so with the RTC addition to PCSX2 in mind, I popped the disc into my drive, and eureka it booted!! This however was only the beginning of an epic saga between Zerofrog and the Konami programmers!

Zerofrog has spent days wrestling with Knonami's ability to push the PS2 hardware to it's limits by making zeroGS KOSMOS push the limits of GPU's, Metal Gear Solid 3 certainly loves it's post processing! Not only has he managed to get the game looking ..well from absolute garbage to gorgeous, he's also managed to stop Snake from slipping through holes in the universe instantly.

The game still has issues, Snake still manages to find holes in the universe (falls through geometry), and he still likes to get stuck inside trees, rocks or just teleport off the edge of the world (the video demonstrates the latter beautifully!). The game also still suffers from visual issues, such as missing textures and the specular lighting overlay being drawn wrong, hopefully by the time the next incarnation of PCSX2 comes out, these issues will be mostly resolved.

So to celebrate this game going from nothing to ingame and the challenges it threw at us, we're releasing a video and 63 shots! Not all 63 are here though, General Emulation run by our betatester General Plot has 31 exclusive shots, so head there for the rest!

All this maybe great news (especially for MGS fans), but there is more, you may have noticed the nothing status games have been decressing steadily and the playable count is going up on our on site compatibility list, including some rather nice games...and there is a new plugin coming up...but you'll have to wait! Wink

Now enjoy the video which you can grab from here (it's a torrent so please seed, and check out our other torrented videos here)

Emulator bsnes v0.020

System PC - Windows

Snes emu, news:
Five months and 43 WIP releases in the making, today I am releasing bsnes v0.020. I'd really like to express my thanks to blargg, for he has written a new S-DSP emulator that is an impressive 32 times more precise than all existing S-DSP emulators. It is now bus-accurate, and should produce bit-perfect sound output to that of a real SNES, excepting very minor, very extreme edge cases. Not only did he do this, he went out of his way to develop a special version exclusively for bsnes to ease licensing concerns and take advantage of bsnes' unique features, notably cothreads. I can't thank him enough. Unfortunately, bsnes has taken a ~10% speed hit over v0.019 by using this new S-DSP emulator, but I must stress the speed hit is entirely due to the way bsnes is implemented. blargg's standalone S-DSP emulator is very, very fast. Anyone is free to take a look at his S-DSP emulator, as he has released it as open source under the LGPL, by visiting his homepage.

# Unfortunately, the new cross-platform UI is not entirely finished. Some sacrifices had to be made to support libui. Specifically, the following features are missing from v0.019, but will hopefully be added back in future releases: Fullscreen support
# Input Configuration panel cannot capture joypad input. Joypad support is still present, but it must be mapped manually through the Advanced panel or through editing bsnes.cfg by hand
# The Cheat Code Editor is missing, but cht files can still be used from bsnes v0.019, and created by hand Sufami Turbo support is not accessible from the UI
# The UI on Windows is slightly less polished due to compromises to allow the UI to be readable on Linux.

I am sorry for the rough edges listed above, but I wanted to get a new release out, as it has been over five months since the last release, and I really want the world to be able to experience blargg's new S-DSP emulator.

Changelog:
# Added blargg's new S-DSP emulator, runs at 1.024mhz. Many thanks to blargg for this, as this puts all portions of SNES emulation except for the S-PPU at bus-accuracy
# blargg's S-DSP core fixes bugs in both Koushien 2 (J) and Toy Story (U)
# Corrected all S-SMP cycle timings to be hardware accurate. Thanks to blargg for creating an amazing test ROM that tested every possible opcode
# Corrected S-CPU wai instruction timing, fixes Mortal Kombat II
# Reverted HDMA sync emulation once more to fix Breath of Fire II (G) and Secret of Mana (U)
# Completely rewrote user interface to use libui, which is a wrapper that allows the same code to produce the same UI on both Windows (through the Win32 API) and Linux (through the GTK+ API)
# Corrected $2100.d7 OAM reset behavior, thanks to research from anomie
# Massively revamped the Linux port, should compile with no warnings or errors now
# Added 64-bit support to libco, tested on FreeBSD/amd64, should work on Linux as well
# Revamped makefile with suggestions from Nach
# Improved Linux Xv renderer to use the far more common YUY2 format, which should work on most Xorg drivers, allowing hardware accelerated video scaling
# Completely rewrote config file system. bsnes.cfg is now saved to user's profile folder on both Windows and Linux, allowing multi-user support
# A lot more work has been done behind the scenes, including massive code cleanups and portability improvements

Emulator Gp2xpectrum 1.4b2

System GP2X

ZX Spectrum emu, news:
- CPU speed increase to 125/170 wasn't enough, and many games performed slower than they should, so I had to put the default speed up to 150/185
- Speed can be changed from the menu using VOL+/-, and can be saved for each individual game together with their keyboard profile
- Fixed memory contention for +2A/+3 models (Overscan now works)
- Changed the way to avoid the MMU hack problems, using Notaz's flush cache function instead of a screen buffer.
- Fixed a bug in L & R buttons assignation from .key file

Since CPU speed increase has been quite high, I'll probably leave precise contended memory emulation as optional for 1.4final version, as I did with No Frameskip vs Frameskip 1

* Faster speed but still not 100%
* Usability enhancements with the menus (key repeat, no more bogus dot entries)
So now the sound finally works as it should, and many more people with microSD cards and the like can enjoy StellaDS. Look forward for more features in the future! Wifi multiplayer Warlords or Pong anyone? How about 100% speed via an assembly-optimized CPU emulator? I can't make any guarantees, but I'm definitely trying to implement these features.

Emulator Ootake 1.08

System PC - Windows

PC-Engine emu, news:- The CPU(HuC6280) processing part, Sound processing part, and Sprite&BG character processing part was sped up. I think that processing lightened in some measure of a personal computer environment so not fast.
- In some games ("Bloody Wolf" and "Power League 3", etc.), the bug with not correct display order of the screen (generated from v1.03) was corrected.
- To play comfortably, the CD-ROM seek setting of default was made "Fast Seek" mode.
* If you loaded the state of an old version, "Fast Seek" returns OFF. In that case, please put the check in the "Speed->Fast Seek" menu by hand power. Then, I think that can play comfortably.
- The processing of ADPCM voice was modeled on the movement of a real machine more. In the latter half of "Top wo Nerae vol.1" came to operate.
- In "Tengai Makyou - Fuuun Kabuki Den", the display order of the character became correct.
- In game that has changed resolution of each line, the operation was modeled on a real machine more.
- Additionally, a detailed part has been improved and corrected.

Frontend Emu Loader 5.0

System PC - Windows

multi emu frontend, news:
version 5.0 change log [June 09, 2007]
--------------------------------------

.fixed: Games list not being fully created when using a "MAME Plus!" binary

.fixed: Added ".inp" extension to MAME's input playback / recording feature (by request)
... MAME does not add the extension automatically

.fixed: When using relative paths for snapshots and other image types, the frontend was pointing to
its own root folder instead of pointing to the emulator's root folder

.fixed: Record wave output feature from MAME was not setting the correct folder when using relative
paths... it should redirect to the emulator's main path (for each system)

.fixed: No more memory leaks after closing games filters screen

.fixed: Procedure "GetFilesList" (uCommon.pas) was adding folder names in the ouput list when
"sub-directories" setting is disabled (only filenames should be added)

.fixed: Very slow scan when building a list of files or directories (when a directory has a LOT of
files... like MAMu_ icons)

.fixed: Grouped view modes were not displaying the "Tree Root" toggle button

.fixed: Show game F.A.Q. was not working correctly... if using relative paths, the full path of the
emulator will be used (according to the selected game)

.fixed: crazy "Joystick Deadzone" / "Joystick Saturation" floating values when updating "mame.ini"

.fixed: when using relative paths with images folders / zip files, the full path is based on the
emulator path, not the frontend

.fixed: Couple bugs with parental lock feature

.changed: Moved "MAMu_ Icons" feature with all its settings to main screen's buttons tool bar

.changed: Moved MAMu_ Icons settings from [Preferences] to [MAMu_] section, "EmuLoader.ini" file

.changed: Update for MAME save state feature. According to MAME 0.114u3 all .sta files must be inside
their own game name folder now

.changed: MNG output files are now generated inside a game name's folder, just like snaps (MAME emus)
eg: "c:\snaps\bagman\bagman.mng"... when snapshots folder is set to "c:\snaps\"

.changed: Updated documentation files: "docs\el-quick-setup-quide.txt" and "docs\el-readme.txt"

.changed: The "MAWS Game Info" is now handled as a new image type instead of a separate feature

.changed: Images tool bar is now visible even when MAWS view mode is enabled

.changed: Moved "New Description Format [Game, The]" from preferences screen to "Games List" main menu

.changed: Renamed file from "filter2_02_master.ico" to "filter2_02_parent.ico", folder
"<frontend>\resources\main_icons\" and all "master / clone" references to "parent / clone"

.changed: Renamed files
- folder: "<frontend>\resources\main_icons\"
-> "gameicons_checkmiss.ico" to "mamu_scanmiss.ico"
-> "gameicons_checkunneeded.ico" to "mamu_scannotneeded.ico"

- folder: "<frontend>\resources\gameslist_icons\"
-> "*Master.ico" to "*Parent.ico"

.removed: File "<frontend>\resources\main_icons\gameicons_enable.ico"

.removed: Zipped MAMu_ icons support is gone so multiple folders can be used

.optimized: Several optimizations thru the entire project, reducing memory variables and for future
improvements. A bunch of duplicated codes were removed and some were merged, resulting on
hidden bug fixes. Frontend is much more solid now :)

.added: New system: "SEGA Model 2"
Thanks to ElSemi, we now have support for "SEGA Model 2 Emulator"!
Only version 0.5a and newer are supported...

Some of the supported features:
-> Game custom options:
Custom .ini are created on folder "<frontend>\arcade\segamodel2_ini\" and when running
a game with custom options, the file "<emulator>\emulator.ini" is renamed to
"<emulator>\default_emulator.ini" and the custom ini will be copied over

-> Custom command line

-> Audit ROMs

-> No merged games support, since ElSemi's emulator works with split-merge sets

.added: New column: "Bios Name". Useful for bios based games, like Neo Geo, PlayChoice-10, CVS, etc

.added: Menu items renamed and added new features to run games (games popup menu):
-> renamed menu item "Play" to "Run Game"
-> renamed menu item "Play (Custom)" to "Run Game (Custom)"
-> added menu item "Run Game and Playback Input"
-> added menu item "Run Game And Record Input"
-> added menu item "Run Game and Load a Save State"
-> added menu item "Run Game and Record Wave Output"
-> added menu item "Run Game and Record MNG Output"

NOTES:
- As you can imagine, the new menu items work just like in MAME32. Select one of them
and a window will open, so you can select a file name
- The new menu items are for MAME based emulators only (no ZiNc, Daphne or SEGA Model 2)
- Hit the "Cancel" button to abort running the game
- You cannot change the folder where files are created, go to MAME default settings instead
- The old features located under "Advanced User" main menu were, of course, removed

.added: New tool bar button: "Favorites". Use this to toggle favorites lists ON/OFF

NOTES:
- The favorites filter is removed from the main filters list now
- When favorites is enabled, the main filters button is disabled

.added: New menu item: "Reload ROMs Folders" (main menu "Emulator")
Use this menu item to reload the ROMs folders into memory, if you edit the "rompath" entry
in "mame.ini" file manually

.added: Support multiple folders in MAMu_ icons feature. Now each system can have its own
set of folders (preferences screen, "Folder/Files" / "General" tab)

NOTES:
-> From now on, you must set all folders you wish to use for each system
When using relative paths, the full path will be based on frontend's main folder

-> Files will be scanned from 1st folder to last so, make sure to always put the main
folder for a specific system at the top of the list, when using multiple folders

-> You can edit folders after adding them to the list with the new "Edit [F2]" button

-> Zipped icons is removed so multiple folders can be used

.added: Feature "MAMu_ Icons" rewritten:
- New settings:
- "Show Parent Icons"
-> show/hide icons for parent games (clone icons are also affected)

- "Show Clone Icons"
-> enable to display game icon for, disable it to display the icon of the parent game

- "Show Special HazeMD Icons"
-> enabling this setting will make EL load the following icons for HazeMD games, when
game icons are not found (MAME and HazeMD systems):
.Mega Drive / Genesis: "g_games.ico", using drivers "md_games.c"; "md_gamul.c"
.Master System: "s_games.ico", using driver "sms.c" and game names starting with "s_"
.Game Gear: "gg_games.ico", using driver "sms.c" and game names starting with "gg_"

- "Show Game Bios Icons"
-> show/hide biosname.ico, when game icons are not found (for bios based games only)

- "Show Game Driver Icons"
-> show/hide drivername.ico, when game icons and bios icons are not found

- "Force Game Bios Icons"
-> show biosname.ico even if game icons are found (for bios based games only)

- "Force Game Driver Icons"
-> show gamedriver.ico even if game icons are found
... if "Force Game Bios Icons" is enabled and the biosname.ico is found, the driver
icon will not be loaded

- "Settings Info"
Access this menu item for more info on how to use MAMu_ icons feature

.added: Feature "Scan for Not Used MAMu_ Icons" has been rewritten
Now you can delete old files using the frontend, instead of just generating a HTML file
You can even edit the file using the "Edit" menu item (with .ico associated app)
To use this feature:
1. Select the system you want to scan
2. Click the "Scan" button and wait a moment
3. Repeat steps #1 and #2 to scan other systems
3. Check all files you want to delete
4. Select "Delete Checked Files" button to delete all files

NOTES:
- Files are grouped by system, making it easy to navigate
- Recycle bin is not supported. Once you delete files there is no turning back!
- You can export the current list to a .txt file
- You can sort the list by clicking the column's headers
- There is a file "<frontend>\ini_files\el_mamu_exclude.ini" containing a list of files
that you don't want to be included in the list (like "!mamu.ico" and others)
Update this file using a text editor or directly in the frontend (list popup menu)
- There is a popup menu (mouse right-click), use it

.added: Feature "Scan for Missing MAMu_ Icons" has been rewritten
Create a list of all games with no game icons directly in the frontend, instead of a HTML file
You can even create and edit a .ico file using the "Edit" menu item (with .ico associated app)
To use this feature:
1. Select the system you want to scan
2. Check "Search Clone Icons" checkbox to scan icons for clone games (optional)
3. Click the "Scan" button and wait a few seconds
4. Repeat steps #1 to #3 to scan other systems

NOTES:
- Games are grouped by system, making it easy to navigate
- You can export the current list to a .txt file
- You can group all "parent + clones" related games sorting the list by the "clone of" column
- Show all games, only parents or only clones
- When creating/editing a icon, there will be a 700 milliseconds pause before the .ico
associated application is called (for slow computer systems)
- There is a popup menu (mouse right-click), use it

.added: New games filter: "Konami Hornet System / Konami GTI Club System"
Two systems in one filter, based on Voodoo hardware

.added: The hint in games filter tool bar button now contain the selected filter's descripton

.added: Feature "Scan for Not Used Images" has been rewritten
Now you can delete old images using the frontend, instead of just generating a HTML file

- There is a popup menu (mouse right-click), use it
- Image types are separated by the icon you are used to

.added: Feature "Scan for Missing Images" has been rewritten
Create a list of all games with no snapshots directly in the frontend, instead of a HTML file
You can even run the game from this screen
To use this feature:
1. Select the system you want to scan
2. Select the image type you want to scan
2. Check "Search Clone Images" to scan images for clone games (popup menu)
3. Check "Scan Unavailable Games" to scan images for games you don't have (popup menu)
4. Check "Scan Bios Games" to scan images for bios sets, like neogeo, cvs, playch10 (popup menu)
5. Click the "Scan" button and wait a moment
4. Repeat steps #1 to #5 to scan other systems

- There is a popup menu (mouse right-click), use it

.added: New feature: "Delete All Selected Games Files" (games popup menu, "Delete" sub-menu)
Delete multiple .zip files at once. A new window will open so you can check all files to
delete. Separeted by system
Note that "Enable Multiple Selection" setting ("Games List" main menu) must be enabled

.added: New feature: "Delete All Visible Games" (games popup menu, "Favorite Games" sub-menu)
Same as delete all selected games files, but is for favorites lists and with 3 differences:

1. You must be in favorites mode
2. Only games that are visible on the list will be added, meaning, the list will be affected
by the current games filters settings
3. No need to select multiple games, as they will all be added to the list automatically

.added: Multiple folders support in "ZiNc - 3D Arcade Emulator" system
Note that parent + clones + bios sets must be in the same folder since ZiNc does not
support loading sets on different folders

.added: New audit options: "Export Results to File" and "Export Bad Results to File" (audit popup menu)
these 2 options replace the "Save to HTML" menu items (they are still available though)

.added: New feature: "View Audit Results" (main menu "Games List")
View the results of your audited games at any time, without using the audit screen.
To use this feature, you need to save the audit using "Export Results to File" menu items on
the audit screen's popup menu
There is also a new file: "docs\el-audit-results-format.txt"

.added: New game documents view: "PCB Info" (main menu "View", sub-menu "Documents")
New feature to view pcb info, also works with automatic game info
Make sure to set the folder where .txt files are (preferences screen, "Folder /Files" tab,
"General" sub-tab, in "PCB Info Folder" frame)
You will find pcbinfo files at MASH website (http://www.mameworld.net/mameinfo/)

.added: Support for Daphne v1.0 betas
Works the same as before, but the file "\ini_files\daphne.ini" is not needed anymore
The only required file is "<daphne1.0>\config.xml" to build the games list

NOTE: File "\ini_files\daphne.ini" is still needed for Daphne v0.99.7

Plugin nullDC NetPlay 1.0.0 BETA 1

Emulator NullDC

netplay plugin, news:
Remember there are MANY problems and it will more than likely not work. I suggest you read through the readme thoroughly to make sure everything is configured correctly.

WARNING! Netplay is still in its early stages, it has known bugs, problems and limititations. It's not user friendly either.
If you encounter any problems regarding Netplay configuration and usage, don't bother reporting them or asking for help.
"We" know about them. "We" will not take the time to fix them any time soon because the current state of the emulator does not allow it. If the information in this document does not help you then "we" can't help you either.
Configuration is very important so be sure to read this document because it's almost certain that you will encounter problems (unless you REALLY know what you're doing).
If you're OK with all the known bugs, problems and limititations then you can continue reading this document. Have fun. :)
