Dug out the ole P1

Post by FiendWithoutAface »

I just dusted off my old Gateway comp. This bad boy has a blistering fast pentium 1 cpu clocking at 166mhz, 48 megs of ram, and a 2.1gig hdd.

I was thinking of grabbin a p1 233mhz off of ebay and an old graphics card and seeing what I could do on win95. Any suggestions for win95 compatible games?

Hey, those specs are almost identical to my very first computer. As for compatible games, here's what I used to play on my old computer:

The Neverhood
Tomb Raider 1 and 2
Riven
Final Fantasy VII
Grim Fandango
Quake 2

Man, if only you had posted this a week earlier... I had a p2 233mhz and a hardly-used mobo to go with it I would've just gave to you. Not to mention a metric shit-ton of PC100/133 64mb ram sticks :(

I've got a PCI Voodoo 3 at my parents house. I can check when I go this weekend, if you want.

That would be tops. How much you want for it?

I remember drooling over that in comp usa when I was 13. Unfortunately the described machine above was bone stock and lacked the system req's to play it. Thats one of the first games that came to mind when I started this project. Though I was able to play Dark forces 1 and quite enjoyed.

That computer has very similar specs to my first computer.

I had an AST Bravo with a Pentium 1 166mhz with 80mb of ram.

Back then, I used it to play Sonic CD, Half-Life, Diablo, Quake, and Starcraft.

Chances are, you've played through all of those games.

Also, FiendWithoutAface, is a 233mhz Pentium 1 included in that bundle that you got for $10?
