Jessman: It needs OpenBoR and it won't run with the original BoR. You can get the latest versions for PC & Dreamcast here:

The fully bugfixed version is available at DCEvolution:

Well, it was down when I first tried it, but in the morning I tried again and it worked. Anyways, does this play on the DC yet? I played it on my computer and while it did seem more polished, can someone please tell me what the big differences are? I only noticed that there were barrels hurling at you like in the originals, they there were points when you could go higher up on the screen, and that the animation was more polished. I really do like this great new addition, but I fail to see any big changes yet. Of course I've only played through a few levels, so I guess I have no right to talk. Finally, I read somewhere that OpenBOR supports picking up weapons and using them, but I still fail to see this in any mod. BTW, how does Final Fight III play? I haven't had enough time to unlock it and was just curious on how faithful it is to the original. Thanks, and sorry for another bothersome post.'
[EDIT:] Am I the only one that suffers from the game shutting down after the first boss in FF1 arcade? Sigh...

Arg! Sorry to leave another post, but I'd appreciate some answers, lol. I noticed that when the game loads, it says in the prompt that there's a weapons mode that requires more memory. ANY way at all to get this working? Or can someone at least tell me what it means?
I'm just trying to understand because some mods out there like Beat of Fighting have many different kinds of pick-up weapons like guns, whips, and ninja stars, but the game itself, while nice to look at, got boring rather quickly. On the other hand, this Final Fight mod is fun to play for quite some time and has variety to it, like extremely varying levels and even bonuses. So just why is it that this new game won't use weapons?
Please tell me, just how do I get "Weapon Mode" working? Thank you for ANY reply.

well
Finally got around to playing this game. And I must say, I am A Final Fight pro. I played and beat the the arcade, the snesFF the snes FF Guy the sega cd final fight and I gots to say YOU GOT IT RIGHT THIS TIME. I hate to dis your other mods but they never felt ike final fight. they were too stiff, too pixely.. and grainy / small. I know this version has the rolling cans the introductions to lvls. and thats all pretty but the character just seem PERFECT. I actually found myself trying to throw them "mid combo" If you ever played final fight you know what I mean. My first thought was "not another REHASH". But then I saw it was on the new engine (OPEN BOR) and although there no weapons pick ups like I though there would be. It still was PERFECT. Not to mention the fact that you made Carlos the most loser of the group, my new favorite Character with that new mod animation sword slashing. jesus that the way it always shoulda been lol. again
This mod, to me. Has your salvation written all over it.
If you havnt played it. You really need to. This is not a mod but a whole new game/conversion. Bor has nothing on this. it has Found a perminent place in my collection even I cant say that about my XMEN. Much respect,

Just to let everyone know, this mod will require the memory fix version to complete all the way. You can download it from http://www.openbor.net/
