Yes, "proper" widescreen (wider FOV only, HUD is untouched) plus a screen grabber.

Does it also keep speech bubbles at the proper AR? Lee seemed to have some trouble with that on BB. Now we just need to get BlueCrab to write similar patches for DC and PC.
GC players should be pleased to not need to use tiny memory card screenshots anymore.

That depends on what you think the proper AR for speech bubbles should be. My patch only changes the FOV for the 3D scene, the speech bubbles are 2D elements (like the HUD) so their size isn't modified. However the bubble tails are changed to correctly point at the person speaking. Original:

I'm hoping that you forgot to apply some AR correction in Devolution, since that second image is still 4:3 with squished 16:9 3D elements, and if you just resized it to 848x480, the HUD and speech bubbles would get distorted. The BB widescreen patch causes speech bubbles to get distorted that way.

I've not had to use the clumsy memory card screenshots for quite some time now, but that's only because I use a capture card.. And that's done a great job so far, but I'll definitely have to give Devolution's screengrab feature a try once it's public, since it basically looks crystal clear from what I've seen.Aleron Ives wrote:Does it also keep speech bubbles at the proper AR? I've already said twice that only the 3D view is changed. It's actually very satisfying seeing the Portuguese translation beeing used, the text and the images combined, i mean, it's amazing, the effort does pay off.

Unfortunately he got away without dropping anything, another enemy dropped meseta at my feet and it blocked me from firing quick enough...

The annoying thing is it happened on only my second or third run and I haven't seen another one after god knows how many runs later. Finding a hallo rappy took nearly 3 days...
