I must say, this was the only reason I stuck to Katana- good VBlank IRQ's. I didnt actually use ANYTHING else from it... I had my own disk, video and maple routines. But the VBlank IRQ's were required to maintain speed. :(

they normally go for around ?500 quid($900)...(as did this one) , and you can still develop using KOS on these, the debugger (supplied with Katana) is fairly good... which is something the DC scene is missing...

Someone should do an ethernet GNU debugger stub.... that would help a lot..

You know... this really pisses me off.... I never made ANY seceret about the fact I used Katana... Everyone knew this... Not only that, but I was using a full legal devkit to do it. Every emu on the DC is "technically" illegal due to the IP.BIN saga... but Sega have decided its not worth t...

Yeah, you can use a keyboard.... plug the joypad in the seccond port with a memory card, and you can save to it. Cant use a Keyboard+joypad at the same time though. Yeah.... the speccy is a doddle. This is the only link you should ever need :) http://www.nvg.ntnu.no/sinclair/faq/tech_48.html I actua...

Nope, sorry....but, its only a speccy emulator... It doesnt take long to write one... a week would do it...

I wrote my first in 2 days..... After all... all you need is the core, then render the screen... thats it... add keyboard, and you have an emulator!

Extra disks

You dont need to make special disks to play your own games, you can swap disks once Dreamspec has loaded. pressing "X" (I think) will rescan the disk. All the games on the disk are free, and have been released into Public Domain. The list was given and verified by the world of spectrum. Th...

In the makefile you have to enable builiding to a BIN file, not an elf, then you scramble it.

DC64 and Dreamspec both used this.... Of course I had an official devkit to start with...

Folders

FYI... DC64 does suport folders/sub folders. My test disk had these, no idea on the rules though... Id keep the names small T64, P00, PRG etc.. then use subdirs inside them.

No, if you do lots of overwrite... you need a new approch... which is what DC64 does... so I render into a scanline buffer and build from that.
