Re: tr1 or boost smart pointers
Thanks
I'm not ready to compile boost with KOS right now, but I'll post back or go to the irc channel when I am. For future reference, is it a simple matter of using the g++ cross compiler to compile the library?

tr1 or boost smart pointers
Have tr1 or boost smart pointers been ported to KOS? If not, has anyone implemented their own shared and weak ptrs that work with KOS? Can I use them? Do they have enable_shared_from_this functionality?

I haven't read your code, but colors flashing into place seems almost like the polygons are "competing" for the same depth. Try drawing them at different depths.

Ah, figured it out, thanks to another post. All I had to do was swap the disks before I pressed, "Start game without codes."

Re: Using Gameshark CDX
These are the two methods I've tried: # Get the iso $ ./cdirip ../../DC\ Gameshark\ CDX\ Demo/ -cdrecord $ ./cdirip ../../DC\ Gameshark\ CDX\ Demo/cdx.cdi -cdrecord $ mv s01t01.wav ../../DC\ Gameshark\ CDX\ Demo/s01t01.wav $ mv s02t02.iso ../../DC\ Gameshark\ CDX\ Demo/s02t02.iso $ rm tdisc.cue $ su...

Using Gameshark CDX
Can anyone tell me how to use CDIRip to get a iso file from my gameshark cdx.cdi? Do I then burn it like I would a homebrew game? Do I use the .wav file generated from using CDIRip or raw audio from dd? Once burned, how do I use the CDX demo to play imported games?

Re: So I've got off the ground.
Any more ideas? I exhausted most of my ideas the other day, but what I would do if I were you is to write a lean program that only deals with displaying translucent images. I don't imagine that your program is very large at this point anyway, but even a little excess clutter might inhibit you from ...

Re: So I've got off the ground.
I'm not going to completely dissuade you from building or purchasing a coder's cable -- they are indeed convenient -- but I want to encourage you to keep trying with CDs in the meantime. If CDs are costly, then consider reusing them multiple times (I'm not talking about a CD-RW). You can test multip...

Minigolf by Licantropo
I'm trying to find a working copy of minigolf by Licantropo (the DC version). I went to http://dreamcast.dcemu.co.uk/minigolf.php and downloaded the zip, but I was given a bad CRC error while uncompressing the archive.
Does anyone have a working copy of this game?
Also, is it freeware?

dc-tool | Download a Game from my Dreamcast
I've been given the opportunity to write documentation for lxdream (the emulator), so I need to download a rom from my Dreamcast to my computer. I have a BBA and dc-tool, but I can't seem to download a game successfully. This command downloaded a file, but it didn't work with the emulator: $ ./dc-to...

Re: Elysian Shadows Revolution #2
Consider me inspired. With the game I'm doing right now, I'm probably going to move from SDL to OpenGL, so I have to rewrite the rendering system. So I can empathize with you guys having to redo the engine. Overall, it's looking great so far, and the video editing is very professional. A couple of t...

Thanks so much you guys! I was in San Fransisco the past four days, so I haven't been able to keep up with this thread, but I'm back now. I'm glad you guys played it! Very nice new years eve treat. Sometime in the future I will be updating this game to include score and possibly power ups. I'll be u...

Re: Hidden Cosmos: A Four Player Space Shooter Game
By the way, if you're trying to run the .elf with the BBA, it won't work unless you change this line in globals.cpp:
const std::string DIR = "/pc/home/john/Desktop/Link to Programming/Hidden Cosmos";
to
const std::string DIR = *INSERT PATH TO THE UNZIPPED FILES*

Hidden Cosmos: A Four Player Space Shooter Game
I finished the Dreamcast game I've been working on for the past month called, Hidden Cosmos. It's similar to Galaga but with a story and four player multiplayer. And by the way, it's open source: You can get the game and the code here: http://sites.google.com/site/enigmaticcoder/games Thanks to ever...

Loading from /cd and /pc
I haven't been able to try to load from /cd yet because I don't have any cdrs, but when I load from /pc, I have big problems. I was using the romdisk, but I needed more than 12 mb of storage, so I decided to go this route. The problem is, it loads the media, especially the music, slow. Very slow. 1....
