Anyone Want a Game Gear?

Post by DaMadFiddler »

The thrift store I frequent downtown has a Game Gear in their electronics bin. It's just the unit and a cartridge (I think it's Mean Bean Machine), no batteries or manuals or AC adapter. If anyone here wants it, I can go back for it on my way home from work and send it to you for around $15 plus shipping.

Yeah, it's true that Game Gears are a dime a dozen at cheapo places. I bought a Game Gear, 5 games, a battery pack, AC adapter for it, and external handler thing for $10 at my local Good Will a couple months ago.

[shrugs] I just saw it, and thought I might want it. This topic can be locked now; I was back at the store yesterday to grab a couple of things, and the Game Gear was gone.

This kind of thing might make for a fun/useful sticky.

If they were still doing analog TV signals over the air and it was a game-gear that was compatible with the TV Tuner, I'd take you up on it.

Same. It's pretty damn disappointing that a lot of analog-only technology has become obsolete.

My understanding is some of the local UHF stations are still around. So you might be able to pick up local analog signals still.

the 700mhz spectrum got bought by qualcom and is now being used to transmit tv signals (you need diff hardware to pick it up though).
