It's like this one time, I was watching a history channel show about the Chupacabra. It spent the whole time giving evidence for its possible existence, until at the last second, said "nah, it's not real."

What a waste of an hour, that was.

That article is flawed. Plesiosaurs and Ichthyosaurs aren't dinosaurs; they each have their own superorders.

Besides that, actual dinosaurs are all land creatures. (So no, pterodactyls are not dinosaurs either).

However, just because it's a bad article doesn't mean its premise is implausible:
