Trying to install Ubuntu 8.04.1 on my tower

Post by Roofus »

And it hangs on this line when trying to boot from the CD:
[91.963478] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:05:02.0 [A] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 18

Any ideas?

maybe try adding "pci=noacpi" to the kernel commandline (you have to hit some key(s) to edit the commandline; I don't remember which).

You could also try the "irqpoll" option.

Didn't bother verifying the disc, but I've tried a couple times before with different discs and it didn't work then, either.
