Just ordered a new PC today. Should have everything in a few weeks:
Spec's:
Intel Quad Core 2.4 GHZ (8mb L2 Cache, 1066 FSB)
3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRam (800 MHZ)
256MB Radeon ATI HD 2600 XT
320GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM with 16 mb Databurst Cache)
Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
It's quite the upgrade from the current PC im using:
AMD 1.8 GHZ Athlon
512 MB SDRam (333 MHZ)
128 MB ATI 9550 SE (AGP 8x)
80 GB ATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM, 8 MB Cache)
Windows XP Pro
Hoping this will leave me able to play a lot of the current games and also finally be able to do some digital video editing. I will eventually be upgrading to a more beefy video card.....
New PC! xD

Re: New PC! xD
It's a pre-built machine that im picking up for cheap. Since it's pre-built, I dont have much of a say in terms of the type of memory in it, nor the operating system. I figure from what I had previously used (as seen above), this will be quite the upgrade.Ex-Cyber wrote:Please explain.ninja wrote:3GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRam (800 MHZ)

Re: New PC! xD
I think what he means is that the RAM can't be dual channel at 3 GB, because they won't be a matched pair if there are only two sticks; if there are three sticks, then it isn't dual channel for obvious reasons.
Very sexy hero, omg

Re: New PC! xD
That would fit. Still seems a little weird, but then there are architectural reasons to stop at 3GB on x86.Wagh wrote:2 sets of dual channel?
