I just wanted to share with you guys one of my contributions to the Urban Dictionary. Please vote it up.

Have any of you ever used "flip" in this fashion? I haven't for decades, but when I was in grammar school, this is just how we said that we beat a game.

Wow. I never really thought of it as being a word, but we used to use either "turned" or "flipped" when we would play pinball in my basement. The pinball machine had an old analog scoreboard, and if any player scored more than 999,999 points, it would "flip" back to 0 again. At one point, I think I flipped the game twice before using all five of my balls.

My cousin Joey who lives in Victoria, Tx used to use flip in that manner.
This was around 1990-1993 somewhere in there.

I hadn't heard of that use before then. We used to use "conquer" to signify beating a game although I don't remember exactly where that came from.

Now I use "beat" to signify seeing a games ending and "complete" for when I accomplish absolutely everything in a game.

the only things we "flip" in CA are cars, houses, coins, and women.

Never used it in the manner you are speaking of.
