This is a section to suggest potential stuff to port to the Dreamcast, right?


Well, there's this kick-arse arcade-style shooter from the mid 90's which went on to have a popular community, and just recently the Pascal source code for the game was given to some others to translate into a more suitable open-source project. The result? OpenTyrian.


So far there's SVN builds for Windows and Mac, and it's already been ported to the PSP and GP2X. But the interesting question is........ would the Dreamcast be able to handle something like this too, you reckon?

Well, it does look like something a Dreamcast would handle quite easily. And it's a pretty good game.

Without looking at the code at all... yeah. A 2D shooter that uses SDL should be portable. I might give it a go at some point if nobody beats me to it.
