need some more explanations about ROMS.LST

Anything DreamSNES-related can be asked in this forum, such as general questions about the emulator, how to burn it, etc.

need some more explanations about ROMS.LST

Post by mitri »

hi all!

first of all, i'd like to apologize if my english goes wrong, but i"m french, and it's been a long time since i left school and study english

good.

about 6 mounths ago, i succesly made a bootable disc with dreamsnes.
but, i did wrong: i put in it nearly 300 roms....

on the start screen, when you choose a game, you have not only to wait for hours before having your rom, but also it crashes before the complete scan!(or, when it don't crash, it is obviously slow....)

and i'd say that the lens of my DC did'nt like this very much....so i gave up this disc.

recently, i read that there was a new version of this emulator.

so i went to the official page, and saw that you can create a ROM list to speed up the loading, and almost, prevent my DC lens from a long and hard scanning!!!!:D

so i'd like to create a romlist, but how can i do? i din't find detailed informations about...

for the gen+DC emulator, i created one, and encountered somes problems.

these are my questions:
where do i have to put the rom list? in the rom files?
do i have to put "NO ROMS HERE" in the rom file to prevent scanning?
in gen+DC, i encountered problems: i realized that the dreamcast doesn't let appear ROMS name wich are in several words.
example= SUPER MARIO WORLD must be renamed in SUPERMARIOWORLD. is it the same for dreamsnes?
can i create my own list?
example: SUPER MARIO WORLD.SMC super mario world
will this appear on my tv screen?

thanks for taking time to answer me!
