Best Genesis/Mega Drive emulator for DC?
Which one is the best to use if you want 100% speed but also good sound and easy listing of games?

Mega Mega Drive / Genesis
GenesisPlusDC PVR Preview v03 by BlackAura
Downloads: http://consolevision.com/members/sbiffy/ - [The file is called 'Genplus3_bO.sbi']
or http://consolevision.com/dreamcast/emus/genesis/

How to burn:

There are two ways of burning it. I will guide you through both.
Using SBInducer:
1. Download the SBI from here:
http://consolevision.com/members/sbiffy ... rowse&Emus - [The file is called 'Genplus3_bO.sbi']
Make sure your browser didn't rename the file to a '.zip'-file. If so just rename it back.
2. Get SBInducer v4 from
http://consolevision.com/members/sbiffy/files/ - [The file is called 'Sbindv4.exe']
3. Install SBInducer and put the 'Genplus3_bO.sbi' in your C:/SBInducr/SBI/ folder.
4. Start SBInducer. Select 'SBI2Boot' and click on 'Extract SBI'.
5. Switch back to Explorer and put your Genesis/MegaDrive games into a subdirectory in C:/SBInducer/Inducer/, e.g. C:/SBInducer/Inducer/Games/. The games could be zipped or unzipped.
6. In SBInducer, you click on the DiscJuggler or Nero icons to create the image. I personally prefer DiscJuggler.
7. Burn the DiscJuggler image with BootDreams' CDI-burner or Alcohol120% in TAO mode.
http://consolevision.com/members/fackue ... BootDreams
http://trial.alcohol-soft.com/en/download_120.php
Alternatively you could use BootDreams:
1. Download BootDreams from here:
http://consolevision.com/members/fackue ... BootDreams
and install it to e.g. C:/BootDreams/
2. Create a folder called C:/BootDreams/GenPlus/
3. Put the 'Genplus3_bO.sbi'-file into that folder, rename it to 'Genplus3_bO.zip' and extract it into that same folder.
4. Create a subdirectory called C:/BootDreams/GenPlus/Games/ and put your games into that folder. The games could either be zipped or unzipped.
5. Start BootDreams and point it to C:/BootDreams/GenPlus/. It will then guide you to the process. I recommend the 'CDRecord' method.

I did not really get the bootdream-guide to work (I have gotten dreamsnes and nesterdc SE to work...)
But I should have a folder called GenPlus, in that a folder called Games (with roms) and one folder called Inducer, In the Inducer folder I should have three folders (Emus, Genesis and Images)
Is this correct?
When I try to make a DiscJuggler image pointing to the GenPlus folder the program asks for the main binary but there are no files to choose from?

Use this for SBI files
Install it.
Drop the sbi file into the Sbi folder
run sbinducr.exe
Select sbi2boot in the combobox
click the extract button
Create a Games folder in Sbinducr\Inducer, then dump your roms in there when it's done extracting.
Click the discjuggler button.
Load alcohol and burn.
Install it.

I *THINK* Genplus can browse subdirectories, so you can try that. if there is a limit, it's probably 2048 or 1024.Spiritual_Chaos wrote:Ok I'll try that instead.
But in the Games folder can I have other folders like Action/Adventure etc?
And how many games can I have in one folder with this emulator?
And thank you again for all the help!

No. BlackAura used to post some bits of news here every now and then.
And yes, PVR supports subdirectory browsing

Well - I did it to BA once before, looks like I'm doing it once more.
I've got a build of GP with some enhancements which I'm going to share with you all, I can't remember if it was functional, I've pretty much stopped my DC work (at least for the near future) - some brave soul is going to have to try it and tell everyone else.
As usual with my stuff, there are things to tweek to improve performance, you can select different CPU sets etc... whatever... here it comes:-

BOOM!
Goodbyes.

No 6 button support as far as I can tell. No VMU support either I suppose.
Anyway, I just played some more games and now I am even more impressed! Bare Knuckle 3, Street Fighter 2 Plus and Darius II - all run full speed with recognizable sound ! ^ ^
Compatibility isn't any bad too! Using the software renderer I even got Sailor Moon to work - though it's a bit slow without the hardware renderer ^ ^
Thanks for this release !

I've downloaded the SBI warmtoe provided, and added it to the DCHelp SBI Repository. It's called GenPlus-3c.090406_warmtoe.sbi.
