I had a Dell 2100 MP projector that was 800x600, upscaled to 720p/1080i. It looked fantastic, even with a 70 inch picture. If you get an XGA or SXGA one, you should be set; 1080p ones are very, very expensive. I forget the exact resolutions, but something around 1400 x 1024 should be sufficient.

I'd look into makeing your own. For about 600 you could make an Amazing one, and really, there not THAT hard to make. Inless you have a ton of money, the HD ones arnt cheap. Also, would the Rev. work with a projector? Humm...

Yes, all systems work with a projector, provided it can decode component/composite/S-video signals (any of them will do, obviously it needs to be able to decode component for there to be HD). You'll probably need to grab something like the Pelican System Selector Pro for everything to be plugged in at once.

1600x1200 projector

Pretty expensive, so you might also look at 1024x768 projectors.

Light level. LCDs are notoriously poor at rendering dark colours since the backlight tends to leak through the display no matter what.

edit: heh, wow. Musta skimmed past the typo and 'misread' it as "better"
