Thanks curt, One more question: i've removed the "%" so that the table doesn't expand when you maximize the browser window. here's an example:
No matter what values i put in i can't change the size of the table now.
Code: Select all
table { height: 50%; width: 50%; border: 2px solid black; background: white; }

Yeah. If you want to remove the percentage, you need to change it something like:
You can set width/height in values of "px" - pixels, "in" - inches, "%" - percentage of it's outer container. You can also set font sizes in "pt" - point size.
In addition, if I were you, I would change the "white" to "#fff" or "#fffffff". Hexidecimal color definitions are always more universal than named color values. Also, in order to be completely correct, if you are only going to define a color for the background, then you might want to change it to "background-color" instead of simply "background". It makes things a little cleaner for anyone that views your source.
Code: Select all
table { height: 200px; width: 450px; border: 2px solid black; background: white; }
