Best games for old computers?
Well I have a pretty old computer, what good games should I get for it? Pre-old counterstrike days.

You should be able to handle most, if not all of the games he listed.stagg wrote:300mhz, 160ram,uhh..
I had a 300 mhz computer with 32 meg ram, and these are the games I always played:
Diablo (haven't tried Diablo II)
Starcraft
The Sims
Quake 1 (back in the Mplayer.com days)
emulators
I can't list much because I never really played many PC games back then. Infact, I have a PC fully capable of games now but I still hardly ever play PC games.

half life 1 should run OK enough...
for the rest i agree with Q1 and Q2, unreal and UT and the likes, they are good games, starcraft is pretty nice too
but stagg, here is a suggestion, the next time you have 400 bucks and feel like blowing it on a PDA, how about upgrading your PC? 300 mhz is really dreadfully slow..... i wouldnt even want to do office/internet stuff on that thing, never mind gaming

It should be enough for office/internet stuff if you use some lightweight Linux distro, or (yuck) Windows 98.Disheveled DrFreeze wrote:300 mhz is really dreadfully slow..... i wouldnt even want to do office/internet stuff on that thing

besides, any 300 mhz machine will have a ram limit, 128, maybe 256 mb ram, and that doesnt cut it for me really, seeing how i always have multiple firefox tabs open, winamp running, 256 mb is a minimum for me
